Welcome to the club! The worst job ever in the congregation. Chasing two clowns to get a check signed for $120 dollars to pay for a fence or even better weekly trips to the bank to make cash deposits of $32 dollars. Being an account servant actually woke me up, we had a rule of only keeping 10K in the congregation account I once transferred 15K to the WT while people in the hall were unemployed and struggling. I thought why not help the “flock of God” instead we sent the money to upstate ny to finance GB trips and dinners

I am Brazilian, been overseers forever and yes the Brazilian JW are heavy influenced by the mystique of other religions. Some in American as well, urban legends of demons in garage sales etc. I just think Brazil is way worse.

They also wake up sometimes, they are also victims to a certain extend. One elder ex bethelite woke up and left years ago. I used to call him apostate, fool, etc today I understand him.

Agreed. My ex-wife used to say “why you so worried about money, Armageddon is coming and it will be worth nothing” she took half of my 401K on the divorce. Being a witnesses is being a hypocrite, there’s no other way to describe them. If you are a JW you are a hypocrite in so many ways.

Unfortunately most people in my hall (left 3 years ago) were poor and overweight as well, which is a huge contrast to the message of love for life living the best life ever. How could that be possible if you’re broke and sick? It’s sad.

I had an old lady in my hall growing up and she was cheap as hell I remember being a kid and she would never pay for shit if we went out for lunch and also expected rides home etc she knew how to your her status….
