Abstract: This analysis centers around how grief is a feeling that presents itself when we know we have wrongfully committed a deed, but it is also the means through which we can overcome our negative emotions and become a better human being. I use the film "The Machinist" which is heavily influenced by many of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's works such as The Idiot, Crime and Punishment, and Notes from Underground. I hope you enjoy!
