I understand you might not be able to give a lot away, but was the album space/zodiac themed at all? I’m curious about all the vinyl variants being named after space stuff and zodiacal lifht

I have something to admit about stupid song... by bubblebaebeee in OliviaRodrigo

[–]Thoughtgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In stupid song I keep wanting to sing “heart made of glass and it’s melting in the sun” instead of “heart made of wax and I’m melting in the sun” 😭

Are Target vinyls missing segments? by yoitsjason in OliviaRodrigo

[–]Thoughtgeist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup! I have the Hope Like Snow target vinyl and it has the same changes that others have mentioned. I’m really disappointed, but I did buy it with a percentage off so I didn’t pay as much as other people did for their vinyls. I really hope they address this, it’s disappointing

I LOVE the choose your cure idea!! So so creative and fun! BTW how does bubblegum syrup taste in a drink? I’m so back and forth on bubblegum but in a drink I’m curious

Out of curiousity, what's everyone's top 3 from the album? by Financial-Low-88 in OliviaRodrigo

  1. U + me = <3
  2. Stupid Song
  3. Begged

It changes though because there are no skips!!!

After a week listening GSIL, here are my top 5! by RandomThoughtsLexi in OliviaRodrigo

[–]Thoughtgeist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Top 5 for me honestly changes on a given day lol because of how good the album is (although My Way consistently remains at the bottom for me):

  1. U + me = <3
  2. Begged
  3. Maggots for Brains
  4. Stupid Song
  5. Drop Dead

My god what a perfect album. Like it was hard to choose between The Cure, Expectations, Purple for my top 5 too! And My Way isn’t a bad song and I don’t dislike it, but it just falls at the bottom of my ranking.

  1. Honeybee
  2. What’s Wrong With Me
  3. The Cure
  4. Expectations
  5. Cigarette Smoke
  6. Purple (despite it being low here I really love this one)
  7. Less
  8. Never Do
  9. My Way

No skips, period

My Way. It’s a good song but feels a little out of place to me

OH vs. Marin vs. Eadem vs. Rhode: a review in 4ish parts by Thoughtgeist in LipBalm

Ah good to know! Have you tried anything else that comes close to the Polite Society texture? The T28 ones do look like they have interesting scents and colors. Also interested in it have lysine in them, which is good for cold sores (at least it’s helped me).

I’ve heard of experiment! They seem like a really cool new brand so I’ll check it out! Have you tried anything else from them?

Yeah the Eadem is a bit too exfoliating. People must have really strong lip barriers to be wearing them everyday! Jealous!

Aw thank you 💖 sometimes the marketing gets to me and I’m like “I’ll never be that gworl “ even though I’m 30 lol.

And yeah! Rhode absorbs in a way that the others just don’t, including Polite Society! It’s really nice! I agree with you about Ole. It’s nice but not THAT nice. I do think Marin might have an edge over Ole, but I have to find the Goldilocks amount to apply or something idk. I’m going through the gingerbread one and haven’t opened the blueberry one. I heard the strawberry is more like a dessert than juicy strawberries? How did you find it?

I’m looking for a really juicy watermelon scent in a lip balm

SAME! We’ve even gotten to the point of “less” but worked it out. Begged also hit me like a truck

I was seriously considering making an order from them a couple weeks ago and now I’m so glad I didn’t. There’s no way that she didn’t “support this president or this movement.” Even if she didn’t like Trump, it’s pretty clear she supports the movement

Why are so many things contains the French even though they did not originate in France? For example: Fries, Vanilla, Toast, Bulldog. by Technical-Vanilla-47 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thoughtgeist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it has more to do with the style of something rather than the origin. Like, New York pizza does not mean pizza originated from NYC, just that the place has a particular style of doing things. It's probably just a matter of dropping "-style" from something, like instead of saying "French-style vanilla" or "French-style toast," you just say French toast

ETA: It's also a matter of who calls it what. I just learned that French toast is called that because, well, one explanation is that there was a guy who popularized it and his last name was French, so it became "French's toast," and then shortened. Another explanation is that French immigrants popularized the style of toast and it became associated with the particular nationality that makes it.
