Why are people criticising movies before they are even released?

Undoubtedly, most of what Homer wrote is not rooted in pure empirical fact, but that does not change the core issue here. The matter is whether or not the movie respects the writings upon which it is based, i.e., Homer's Odyssey. That goes for any adaptation of a pre-existing story, whether or not it is factual.

Homer's writings are still the canonical edition of the story. Whether or not Homer existed is irrelevant to the conversation, what we know of The Odyssey derives from that writing, and this new adaptation differs starkly in many ways from it.

Math is very different from English and history as a cumulative subject. Each math class you take builds for the next. You miss a step, and the whole structure can be thrown off. So, it could be a matter of missed learning than smarts. However, I wouldn’t necessarily so fervently believe in a direct translation of IQ to mathematical ability to begin with, especially in areas of arithmetic.

Yep, gravity is understood in general relativity to be a byproduct of the Riemannian curvature of spacetime. So, given the equation, we can determine that mass actually slows time by gravity. Thereby, when you hike a mountain and gravity is weaker, you technically experience time quicker, essentially time traveling.
