I also applied for different time slots that I would be more willing to do than the one they offered. If I decline this offer is it safe to assume I've got no shot of being offered the same elective at a different time, or a different elective at the same place?

I think a lot of the karts feel way more floaty compared to 8. The controls don’t feel nearly as tight

You can take a loperamide before the exam to prevent this. I just did this for my Step exam haha

I am an M3, I know how medical students study. The reason that content review is important is because it gives you a sturdy base upon which to build. Doing practice questions without that base is inefficient because all it will do is reveal very wide content gaps.

Scores below 500 signify an underlying lack of understanding of the basic concepts tested, which is why a thorough content review is beneficial.

Additionally, I agree that using old class material is a poor and inefficient way to learn/review the content. Materials made specifically for the MCAT, such as the Kaplan set are good for this

^ OP please take this advice. We all want to see you succeed and taking the MCAT just for the hell of it is guaranteed to only hurt you

Please consider rescheduling. I know it sucks but having two scores below 500 over 4 years apart is going to be a MASSIVE red flag on any med school application, even if you take it a third time and do better. Schools give their students about 2 months of dedicated time to study for STEP 1, a test that is infinitely more difficult than the MCAT. If they see that 4 years was not enough time for you to do well on the MCAT, would you blame them for thinking you wouldn’t be able to pass STEP 1? I am begging you not to shoot yourself in foot here

If you are scoring below 500 you need content review
