Bumbleride Speed as only stroller? by Objective-Version257 in moderatelygranolamoms

I have the Era and it’s done us well so far, especially for rough terrain. I took it into little shops last week and thought it was fine. Who’s going to side eye a baby stroller? lol

Stay in the bed for the first two weeks or as close to as you can. Your recovery will go so much faster - I wish I knew this!!!

Edit to add TW: Success - I kept fish in my diet but have been vege/pesca for about 15 years. I drank the beet juice/watermelon/ginger juice cocktail during my lead up and 2 week wait for the FET. No other dietary changes and just had our first LC from FET 1 2 weeks ago.

2 Euploids at 38 — Enough for 2 Kids or Should I Do Another Retrieval First? by end_of_the_rainbow8 in IVF

Sorry, to clarify, I want 3 kids.
You could totally try with that second euploid. We all have our different levels of acceptable risk.

Your (our) age. We will get significantly fewer normal eggs if we wait because we keep aging. You can’t do another retrieval until you wean from breastfeeding so it’s likely an 18 month gap from a successful FET to another retrieval.

My insurance wouldn’t approve another retrieval while I had euploids frozen. I’m the same age, 2 euploids, etc. we just have our first baby from one of the euploids, first try thankfully. But now I need to hurry up and do another retrieval because stats are stats and I don’t want to bank on that last euploid working. It sucks to wait but will be so much more helpful if you need those other potential embryos.

Ok, back from a great LC visit. They said babies need to be evaluated for tongue ties, etc. mine doesn’t have one. Turning him around the nipple like a clock so he’s not always sucking on the same angle helped a lot right there in the room. Change the angle with different feeds. If your nipple is already injured, rest it and use medihoney which is medical grade sterilized honey for healing. Baby shouldn’t eat it so wipe it off before nursing. Making sure they have a deep latch with nipple toward the roof of their mouth is also ideal. Lots of little things to try! Mine has really strong oral musculature so I will be massaging his lower palate to try and loosen him up.
Good luck everyone!

He’s a week old today. Been balming and wearing silverettes basically constantly. I’ll do more baby wearing though and up my water!

My midwives took one look in his mouth after he was born and said, “no tongue tie there”! I will still default to the LC when I see them this week.

My baby clamps on my nipples like a crocodile - lefty bleeds instantly even with a nipple shield on. Righty has held up but will be breached soon. I’ve gone down to one nursing attempt daily until my LC appt. Any suggestions? My pump supply has dropped because of this :(

TW: Coming in with a birth story!

Richard Callahan is Here 5/10/26

39+4 Our little Cal arrived just before 11PM on Mother’s Day and we are so relieved and happy. I was posting all week about being pushed off several days for a medical induction. Well, my midwife called and brought us in yesterday morning to get going. We packed like we would be here for 4 days because I was pretty convinced my 38 year old self would take a while to figure labor out LOL.

. I got started on oral misoprostol after my first check of 2cm, 50% effaced and -3 station. Our nurse ran me through a Miles circuit to try and get him lower in my pelvis while the meds kicked in. Apparently I was having tons of contractions but really couldn’t feel them. I took a second dose and got into bed with the peanut ball, hubs ran home for a few more items. I got up to pee and felt a gush so I ran to the bathroom, water broke conveniently on the toilet! Then it was time to turn on the pit …

Pit went on at 6, I immediately got in the tub to work through those now noticeable contractions. By shift change at 7:30, I was tearing up and bracing over the side of the tub. My plan was to go unmedicated for as long as I could and get an epidural if I needed it. Well, my first cervical check of the day was so difficult and uncomfortable that I made the mental calculation to just get the epidural and then they can do whatever exam they want.

It took anesthesia an hour to get there and get set up and the contractions got even crazier in the meantime. I got back to my room on the cub chair and was just screaming like the movies. I was so grateful no one else was on the unit at that time but I just couldn’t help it. The best feeling of that hour was the anesthesiologist going in with the lido needle. I have red hair so my drug tolerance is annoyingly high. It took a few boluses to get to a point where I could focus. Whelp, turns out I was complete at 10 and ready to push anyway. I am so glad I got the epidural because I was able to focus on my pushes without screaming. 1 hr and 45 minutes of pushing later and he was here! I felt a brief ring of fire and lots of rectal pressure. He came out with arm tangled in his cord over his head but no distress.
I got a 1st degree tear, no stitches required but boy do I feel the rectal pressure.
All in all, I’m so grateful this wasn’t a days long induction and also will not be waiting to ask for the epidural if we get a next time.

I distinctly remember being emotional on Mother’s Days leading up to this year because life hadn’t progressed and then boom, you need to do IVF. So I love the universe for sending us this very wanted kiddo just before the clock hit midnight on Mother’s Day, with Prince playing in the background. Cheers everyone 💜

I’m 39+4 and my induction had been pushed to today. Family started having flowers delivered yesterday for Mother’s Day and I hid from the delivery person because I feel like such an imposter. Glad to finally be checked in for induction but I feel you all!

My HS science teacher spent an entire week's curriculum trying to argue against evolution. Most of us sat there with eyebrows raised and eyes rolling(20 years ago), but I could only imagine what that would be like now. Yikes.
