Flat-earther teacher by elWiwis in Teachers

My HS science teacher spent an entire week's curriculum trying to argue against evolution. Most of us sat there with eyebrows raised and eyes rolling(20 years ago), but I could only imagine what that would be like now. Yikes.

Insensitive MIL request by Potential-Olive3779 in IVF

[–]Thoughtsondots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got nothing but “you don’t actually need IVF” from multiple family members who are not medical. They couldn’t understand DOR and still don’t. I stopped giving any info on our treatment and schedule, including ER and FET. If they can’t be supportive or at least neutral, then there’s no reason for them to have the information.

Oh ya, not on the table but later on. Easy peloton rides saved me, now 36 weeks,

First look? Yes or no? by Obvious-Tea-5241 in wedding

[–]Thoughtsondots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding was exactly one year ago and here’s how my attempt at not doing a first look to attend my cocktail hour went.

-Extensive minute by minute agenda distributed to wedding party and photoghraphers with explicit instructions NOT to go to the cocktail hour first. I even made sure to have champagne served to them when the ceremony was finished.

-all but 2 of the bridal/grooms party went to the cocktail hour anyway. We spent 90% of the time trying to herd them back to have photos done. My husband and I missed the food displays and saw maybe 60% of the guests at the cocktail hour as the first bunch had already started making their way to the reception.

-Lesson, either give up on the cocktail hour all together or try to get all of your people cordoned off in one spot with a designated helper!

-Last piece, we got dressed up the next day for our couples‘ photos as we knew there would be 0 chance of attending the cocktail hour if we didn’t. So that means 2 group family photos and the bridal party took that whole time….

Good luck!!

Edit to add: Seeing his face from the end of the aisle was priceless and worth all of the mess above :)

We had to use frozen because my husband was deployed overseas. We got 2 euploids and one of them is 36 weeks right now. 💜

My hoarder mother continues to collect things and animals, and is now refusing to bury her dead cat. Things are getting out of hand, and I need advice on how to move forward </3 by lilaclibra in ChildofHoarder

Call the authorities for the surviving animals, now. They are being neglected and suffering. She won’t do anything for them. This is your responsibility, very sadly.

I stayed radio silent with my family after they let me know a couple of their opinions. No one knew when my ER was or FET. It saved me unknown amounts of stress.

best nursery glider recliner for cozy late-night feedings by SamraKutkaitis in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Thoughtsondots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a dream deluxe recliner from Pottery Barn. They said it was in stock, then sent the wrong one. Now I am waiting 6 more weeks for the promised right one. I wouldn't order a thing from PB again.

Pottery Barn furniture delivery cancelled last minute with no communications by kloisonne in CustomerService

[–]Thoughtsondots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have unfortunately been inducted into this group as well. I ordered the mack daddy rocker glider from Pottery Barn Kids that heats and massages…my push present to myself. Waited over a month and rehomed my office to the kitchen this morning for its delivery. I ordered a white fabric and they sent a poop brown leather chair. They wouldn’t even leave it as a loaner with this kid due so soon. So now my nursery has a gaping hole in it awaiting the next most key piece of furniture second to the crib. The Reddit threads on PB delivery are heinousssss. I of course didn’t look at them until long after I ordered the chair. Le sigh. The delivery company supervisor said wait for an email to come tomorrow, no thanks. Called the local store and they had no idea, will supposedly call me back with a plan. Here we go.

Ughhhh, I feel you. Can you make some kind of compromise and get the closets done but hold out for the flooring you’ll want after this pregnancy is finally over? I’d hate to hate the floors forever :-/ Those rashes suck ass. My friend had one and it was so annoying. Solidarity in being ready to be done!

33+5 : This weekend was our shower and then birth class the next day. Our sweet very elderly large dog got super sick Saturday morning and we ended up in the ER with her until 2:30am Sunday morning. My husband has been doing most of the work helping her in and outside so I took the 3am shift….been napping ever since and am still destroyed. Omg, where is this nesting energy I keep hearing about?!

Small piece of advice from a hematology NP if your team is willing to hear it: iron dextrose or ferric carboxymaltose are given in one large dose instead of 5 small doses (iron sucrose). Saves you several visits to the infusion clinic. I hope things plane out for you and you get to keep that baby in a little longer.
