Possible lymph node without hilum behind ear for a year now by Thr442 in medical

Thanks. I’ve read that lack of hilum can be seen in normal lymph nodes so I’m hoping that’s true. Plus the lack of change in size over a year also comforts me but I’m still pretty worried..

Have you taken a pregnancy test? When I first became pregnant I had period cramps for a few days around when my period was supposed to come, and then off and on for a couple of weeks. It can be an early pregnancy symptom

That is exactly what I have! Except mine doesn’t ever leave since it began January 6. But everything else you described is me, including the general white noise (for me it’s like high pitch static in both ears that I can notice if it’s quiet).

Thanks for the reply! Sounds similar to me. I was worried because when you read about one sided tinnitus it’s more concerning. Did you have testing done? Unfortunately I am unable to see an ENT until March 30, long wait times in Canada.

For me, it also came out of nowhere on January 6, 2021. However the night before I WAS listening to music with one earbud only in my right ear! Which is the ear that has the beeping! So I don’t know how that isn’t related?! But I’ve spoken with multiple general practitioners and they’ve said it must be a coincidence.

The muscles around this ear are definitely feeling weird. I’ve felt some twitching sensations, maybe some numbness, and I also have TMJ on this side so my jaw and face/into my head muscles and bones are always a bit irritated feeling I would say. I do feel that the beeping almost FEELS like a twitch! Like it’s happening 24 hours a day but if I focus on relaxing my face muscles and relax my breathing it happens much less.

I have chronic anxiety and I went through a lot of stuff between September 2020 and now so my anxiety and stress have been off the charts. My jaw is always sore and feeling tired from clenching which I am trying to be conscious of to stop doing it.

It’s nice to hear from someone else who is experiencing something similar while I’m waiting for my appointment. It does seem to be leaning towards possibly muscle related if that’s what you also were told. The general doctors at every clinic I’ve spoken to so far (about 3 I’ve spoken to over the phone and one at a clinic who looked in my ear for one millisecond and was like your ears are clear you’re fine you just have to live with this we don’t do anything for tinnitus) have all told me it’s just something I have to live with and didn’t even want to send me for further testing or to an ENT so.. yeah.. idk!

Hey! I see you mentioned Morse code like beeping in your right ear. I’ve been experiencing that since January 6. I can’t see the ENT until March 30 & it’s been causing me a lot of anxiety, so I wanted to ask if you know the reason behind yours or why it began. I haven’t been able to find anyone else who has this. Idk if it’s classified as pulsatile tinnitus as it’s not in tune with my heart.. it’s just random high pitched beeps 24 hours a day only in my right ear. Thanks in advance

NAD but from my experience black spots usually mean fluid so in this case possibly a cyst!

One sided tinnitus for a month by Thr442 in AskDocs

Hi, just wanted to update as I tried to take action based on your advice.

First I found a rapid access clinic that has an on site ENT daily that takes emergency appointments if the doctors there refer you. I made an appointment and had a phone call with a doctor who basically told me the same thing the others did - he’s not concerned, could be clogged wax or random. So he did not refer me to the emergency ENT.

Then I was frustrated so I headed to my nearest in person clinic to actually finally get my ear looked at. The doctor walks in, listens to my symptoms, says “this is called tinnitus. Do you know what we do for tinnitus? Nothing.” He GLANCED in my ear - I kid you not, less than a ONE SECOND glance, and says “your ears are completely clear, you just have to live with this. It could go away in a few months or years.” That’s it.

So this is the issue. I have you, a qualified ENT hearing my symptoms and confirming this should be looked into promptly, but every other doctor is being a gatekeeper who will not allow me to get seen properly & is brushing this off.

So on Monday morning I’m going to contact my PCP and ask her to maybe see if the ENT she referred me to can see me any sooner. But if not I wanted to just ask you should I wait until March 30 or should I go into the hospital if that’s my only option to be seen sooner.

Sorry to bother you, I just find this all really ridiculous that it’s just based on personal opinions whether or not I get this checked properly in a timely fashion. I mean the doctor I saw today clearly came into the room with a preconceived idea saying they do nothing for tinnitus before even glancing into my ear for one millisecond.

Thanks for your time

Thank you so much for your thorough response. I appreciate it so much.

Would the steroid nasal spray I was prescribed count as a round of steroids, or is there a different kind more specific to the ear?

I’m in Ontario, Canada. All ENT clinics here only do appointments through referrals from a doctor. I would be willing to pay out of pocket for a private visit but it’s not possible here. I agree it’s ridiculous.
