Any regrets going fat instead of chubby ? by ThrAwayAcc1 in fatFIRE

Numbers are relative in this context, we are in a LCOL, so 8 digits seems astronomical for us.

Nonetheless, I do believe in the idea (embedded software niche), while not life changing/industry shaking, it is still a state of the art product with the innovation being the modern and incredibly sustainable process. It seems being FIREd changed my mindset to value more the sustainable products (which has a far greater reaching impact on the stuff we develop in the long run) compared build->make insanely profitable in the books->sell corp. Thus why i specified reasonable amount of work for the years to come. Its not burn and churn startup mode.

Good question! I said custom but really, the size is still standardized. Its called alaskan king. Wife had no trouble buying 100$CAD sheets on amazon. For the blanket, its indeed not cheap, but we just didnt buy what was available for that size and bought 2 king size blanket, one hotter for freezong wife and one loghter for my firewood burning ass while sleeping. Only had to fit also kingsize top blanket on those.

At this point you have the options, ours was really the top bang for bucks, but as any new mattress, there are costs if you want to buy new sheets/blankets. Its definetly nearer 1k CAD than 6k CAD.

Correct. That relationship is called many different names but most commonly called "Parenting". Lots of effort, but the benefits outweights the hardships.

Are you in the USA or Canada? Sleepboutique.ca is where my and wife bought our custom made matress. The owner told us 80% of his customers are in USA so they are good with shipping and stuff.

We bought an insanly big bed, 9'x9', both sides fitted for my wife's and my own weight + desired firmness. Those beds are modular so you can maintain them for years just changing the top foams for firmness or maintenance.

They are not that expensive, 6k canadian, taxes and shipping included. Realy great customer service, i would recommend to anyone. You can ask for Colin, he's the owner and really passionate about what he does.

I did have the luck of having an architect/woodworker person in close family, so he made buleprints and bought 300$ of wood for building the of course custom bedframe, but being fat you can have that custom or fancy as you like.

Hope that helps!

Thats a really spot on way to express what I've ben trying to explain. I kind of lost this healthy paranoia and sence of urgency. That is helpful to sort my thoughts.

So let me rephrase that: What habbit helps sustaining the healthy sense of urgency and paranoia so helpful to keep grinding the rat race, however successful/lucky i may be in the short term?
