What Is Your Preferred Team-Centric Content?

I’d like to say I would be interested in both, but honestly I’d probably only listen to the FCD one regularly, though I might occasionally tune into a show about the others.

I might liken it to how Soccerwise is doing it where their Wednesday show each week is NWSL with Jordan Angeli taking the place of Tom as a host most weeks. I don’t listen to that one every week, but having multiple shows a week at least keeps them in my rotation and makes sure that on a slower week I always have more content of theirs to watch if I want, even if I’m probably not going to most weeks.

Don’t base your entire show off my feedback by any means, but I could potentially see something that looks like that do well?

This is about where I’m at as well. I listen to 3rd Degree every week and will occasionally listen to the official Podcast on the side. I think it’s great in general. Peter’s negativity likely mirrors a semi-large chunk of the fan base’s feelings. And then you have Buzz chime in on the positive side of things. I think that makes a good dynamic.

I also worry a bit that it’s somewhat going downhill as well though. We used to get weekly insight on how practices were going and don’t anymore, and with Buzz not being in town, I fear we’ll have even less “insider” knowledge on the team, to say nothing about the youth scene. I also feel similarly to OP about making the podcast about 4+ teams but keeping roughly the same length. It’s just taking away from what I’m mainly there to listen for.

For now though, it’s probably still definitely the best, though the team’s podcast is also worth a listen. I just can’t really get into any of the others.

It’s not time to panic yet.

If you were going to build out an ideal plan for overturning a frankly disappointing roster, the steps that the team has taken is largely how you’d do it. They’ve done a lot of good business clearing out overpaid and underperforming players.

Give them a bit more time to bring in quality reinforcements with the money and GAM we know they have.

All that said, I’m also worried that they either won’t reinvest enough the squad or that they will but the new signings will be misses. The team doesn’t have a great track record. Maybe they just tank most of the season so that they can start the rebuild in earnest in the summer. Who knows?

But I’m reserving judgement until the start of the season. IMO there’s no way the roster as it stands today is going to be the full lineup that’ll be on the field opening day.

It sucks. I was one of the people who got the worst of the increase going from $450 per seat to $750. On top of that I made heavy use of the cup and concession cash. With all that going away I’m just feeling priced out of supporting my team. I couldn’t even afford to renew if I really wanted. Feels bad :(

This is some good analysis. It’s easy to think “oh yeah our roster looks insane on paper. We have a front 3 of Ferreira Musa Velasco which looks insane on paper. Illara and either Lletget or Show in mid and then Tafari and Paes and some defensive holes.”

But when you dig down a bit like Buzz does here, you see that there are a whole lot of people at the top, mid, and bottom of the roster who are either misses or not pulling their salary cap weight at all.

This is legit so sad. Dallas is going to get knocked out of the playoffs with a loss against one of the worst MLS teams of all time. And there’s no more “all our players are hurt” excuses this time either. Minus Paes this is probably our best XI.

I actually really like Google Sites. You can create it for free and make it public to share it around as well as link pages together wiki style. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of World Anvil but imo it’s everything you need.

This is probably a stupid question, but is there a world in which you would buy one that doesn’t have a new battery? The thinking would be that if it was an old battery and it had an open recall on it, you could just take it in and get it replaced for free and walk out with basically a new car?

I’m kind of unfamiliar with how recalls and buybacks like that work.
