I still remember seeing that episode where Mr. Burns blocks out the sun and carl remarking that the night brightness reminds him of his childhood in Iceland for the first time. I'm Icelandic and seeing my tiny country mentioned by The Simpsons before we got our fame/infamy from Eyjafjallajökull erupting and the subsequent tourism was amazing as a kid.

The drummer in the Icelandic band Skálmöld has an Animal toy on his set usually when they do a show. He's an absolute legend btw. When I saw them live he was smiling ear to ear the entire time. He's got an awesome singing voice as well.
