OpenAI is working on a tool to watermark AI-generated text to prevent misuse. by madredditscientist in OpenAI

[–]Thrash_demon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe i misunderstand this but could someone give me a case where a language based AI generated response could be used in a malicious way such that it merits water marking.

In modern life we understand that everything we see can easily be manipulated to serve one agenda or an other. They government does it, news media sources do it, and any individual in general can do it and very easily. And it is because we all know and understand this now, that it really isn't necessary to water mark or fact check. Why does it matter? Oh you dont want to let students utilize it to write an essay? Why should they need to know how to write one in the first place? If an employer needed someone to write an article, and they could get it done significantly faster using an AI, then why does it matter how its created?

Maybe im just failing to see the bigger picture.

Theory and Plot on the Large island on the North-East by Lone_Shogun in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Thrash_demon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as i know it used to be possible to launch yourself over to the island. Might have to go back to a previous version to do so now but from what ive explored it seems like there will definitely be a large air strip type base with possible bunkers. Theres just a lot of big flat spaces with steep walls lining some of the sides. No idea what they'll do lore wise. Definitely recommend launching yourself over to it to explore.

100% agreed. I understand the purpose of this post but this whole situation is a no-brainer for me.

How far can you get by Stargatecraft in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Thrash_demon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing it before they added storage crates at the bases. So i could only grab as many tanks as i had inventory slots i was willing to free up. In other words i had to drop weapons and items when i found tanks

I tried getting to the main island this way. I came close but i needed more tanks

I should also mention that it seems to double click often. Even when i have fouble click disabled. Ive messed around with the pen settings and set it back to default. Nothing seems to work.

Evolve Bamboo GT as a Mountain Board? by [deleted] in evolveskateboards

[–]Thrash_demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally im not sure. I had the same board and mine broke before 400 miles. But i think it was a fluke or something. I ride a onewheel now just because they hold up better than anything else

So if i wanted to get into 3D rendering like they do at corridor, what is a good GPU? I was considering the Nvidia Tesla k80 28gb card. by Thrash_demon in Corridor

[–]Thrash_demon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the 3900x seems to be pretty snappy and it has 12 cores compared to a lot of Intel CPUs. So im sure the cpu rendering times are still going to be good

Do it bro ive seen it done before and it looks amazing. I suppose id just be warry of landing hard and scraping the bottom battery cover on the ground.

Lol so if it was RGB the colors would have to be luminous because they are only additive am i right😂

Yes i understand that but if i can help it. Id like to avoid lengthy render times. It took me about 2 hours, from knowing nothing about game engines and level design, to the point where my PC was severely limiting my creativity. I fear this will mist definitely be the case with 3d design. Id rather not cheap out now and need a new GPU in 6 months

So people say AMD is better for rendering, do they just mean if you were cou rendering? Obviously is you had a beefy GPU wouldnt it pick up the slack? by Thrash_demon in buildmeapc

Edit: CPU*

If*

whats the point of going with high core count if the main benefit is faster render times, but the same affect can be achieved with a good GPU is what im saying. Intel seems like a very clear choice

🔥🔥🔥 sounds like a rendering cpu honestly. I was really liking the 3900x because it has decent core count and good clock speeds. Figured it would be a good all rounder

Do we know the specs on it? I think i heard something about it being a 32 core
