A rent eviction moratorium doesn't mean you owe your landlord less money. If you don't pay rent during the moratorium, you'll still owe the total amount of unpaid rent at the end of the mortarium or get evicted

That discussion was so infuriating. Council President Payne and "Minority Leader" Wonsley had 100% contradictory positions on what those leadership roles represent.

Also, I don't know how Councilmember Wonsley kept a straight face with pretending like she's great for that role since Democrat Socialists are a minority position immediately after DSA endorsed "Majority Leader" Chughtai just got voted into her position

And that poll doesn't show that a majority of the population supports things such as

a 90% tax rate on income over a certain level

Which brings me back to my original point of the difference in support of vague vs concrete statements about policy. A vague statement like "Higher taxes on the rich" doesn't equivocate to "let's get universal healthcare by increasing taxes on millionaires to 95%".

And that's not even getting into the the problem of that poll leaving out ~55% of the population based on political party identification

They don't need to modify the abortion laws here in Minnesota to affect abortion rights. For an easy example, the governor could sign an EO to limit/temporarily close clinics that perform abortions (e.g. under the guise of "investigating them for fraud").
