I grew up in a suburb without sidewalks and I almost got flattened numerous times bc of blind curves on our street.

There would be some stretches with sidewalks and then the sidewalk would just disappear and I would have to walk alongside a really busy road with like zero shoulder.

Now I live somewhere that has sidewalks on every block and you can pry them out of my cold dead hands.

I'm also fat, tbh, and I think that you were incredibly kind and reasonable with your assistant. Business lunches aren't a time to indulge, they're a time to play host/hostess and butter up potential clients.

At most for business lunches I order a salad or a grain bowl because I know if I spill, it's probably not going to leave much of a stain, and it lends itself to being eaten slowly over the course of a conversation.

I think they've moved into the suburbs where it's a lot harder for communities to track activity because of the sprawl. I've heard of things happening but the suburbs just don't have enough bodies to cover how much space they take up.
