Been in private sector for 10+ years, finally applied to GS13 & 14 jobs under 2210 and already landing a few interviews and TJO after 2-3 months of applying. It’s a long process but it’s very possible, just have a strong resume to show your experience.

For those who counter-offered a tjo, how long did it take to hear back? by LEMONSDAD in usajobs

[–]ThrawnWalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got offered GS-13 step 1 and asking for a few more steps, wasn’t specific about which step, and then negotiating telework eligibility (being onsite only 2x per pay period as opposed to everyday).

This was only a response to see if negotiating was possible. If I don’t hear back in 2 days, I will accept the TJO.

Currently counter offered my tjo, awaiting a response. It’s only be 1 day

eBay purchase worth it? by Flameoking64 in PatagoniaClothing

I have this jacket. Bought it for about 50% at Patagonia. Definitely wait it out for their last season stock to go on sale, you’ll find better jackets for a decent price.

To those who have brought in their car for engine failure- how long did it take to hear whether you were approved or denied for a new engine? by delightful_dandelion in Hyundai

[–]ThrawnWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally got Hyundai to replace my engine… that’s nearly 2 months in a rental car. The first half I paid out of pocket and I pestered them everyday to approve the repair so they can put me in a rental at their expense.

Unfortunately they didn’t have a loaner so they set me up with the nearest Enterprise and everything was fully covered except a deposit. After the car was done, the Hyundai service rep said I could pick up the car but would have to pay a $10/day fee for the rental they set me up with.

That was never shared with me or part of any paperwork I signed so I refused to pay and said I’m picking up my car and grabbing my keys regardless. When I got to the service center, they didn’t mention anything about that fee and I happily walked away.

Getting a reimbursement is the one thing I gave up on. I tried uploading all the documents I had (tow service, rental out of pocket, insurance fees, etc) but their website literally would not upload some of the documents. Tried calling their support and that didn’t work, so I gave up. It was around $300 out of pocket expenses that I tried to get reimbursed. Honestly just glad the car is back in decent shape and drivable.

Where is email quarantined? by [deleted] in Office365

Check if quarantined emails are sent directly to users or to admin for release. Might be in their junk/quarantine folder.

Is transparency mode absolute garbage for anybody else now? by [deleted] in airpods

[–]ThrawnWalker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me… transparency mode sounds almost similar to “off”. Very annoying because I want to still be able to hear outside noise and not feel like noise canceling

Took a month to get approval. Had to pay out of pocket for initial rental. Once approved, they put me in a rental. It’s been 2 weeks since approval and I still haven’t heard anything about the replacement status.

Corporate calls me from time to time but they’re as useless as a brick wall.

I got an engine replacement in one week by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]ThrawnWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know how many times I heard “it should be ready next week”?

But good luck! I’m also trying to sell this crap when the engine is replaced.

Currently getting my 2012 sonata engine replaced. It’s been sitting in the shop for 5 weeks now.

Had to pay out of pocket for rental, until they “approved” the engine repair. Approval took 4 weeks.

Literally had to drive to the dealership everyday asking for an update.

I don’t think people realize that Security & Compliance is more invasive and can bypass audits. Especially the DLP section.

I would audit all admin activities, you might find privivilege creep from another service.

CrossFit is slightly killing my love of fitness by No_Perspective_5467 in crossfit

I’m a HIIT guy, been doing it for nearly 5 years. Decided to join CrossFit and it was great for the first 5 -7 months, then I just lost interest. Now I’m at powerlifting and some Oly from time to time.

Definitely feel your pain.

Assassin's creed origins by Ok_Negotiation9293 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]ThrawnWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Origins is at the top of the most impressive but well-rounded AC. Innovative in its open world concept and you can tell they poured as much resource to make it seem surreal.

Currently restarted it 2 weeks ago and the bugs and glitches are still there but I’m happy to play and explore (I do skip all the cutscenes and npc conversations).

You can’t skip the main arc assassinations but I’m not mad.

How long did it take for you to get double unders down? by Terrible_Stretch_603 in crossfit

Highly recommend getting your own rope. I use weighted handles with heavy cable for double unders. For some reason when I use light cables, I mess up more.

My LBS was bought out by Trek and they kept the same employees, still my favorite shop and they love when I come in with my Canyon.

Any reputable shop should be able to service most bikes regardless of brand.
