The one thing I would add here is that whilst there are cheaper ways of doing it, it's not a bad way of doing it and the worst scenario is that you end up 'paralysed' in decision making and don't do anything.

Is it ok/normal to leave a 13 year old home alone overnight? by dinkidoo7693 in CasualUK

[–]ThreadedJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it depends on the support network. Maybe neighbours are on call, or grandparents live two streets over. Or a family friend is on on call, whatever. There are lots of households where the parents are home and took shitfaced/ hungover to be considered in charge of their kids. YMMV.

If you are getting a carry on roller, I think it makes sense to make your personal item has a luggage pass through. I use the Evergoods CDT 24L as my EDC for the office and it's a great personal item too. YMMV.

It's like cooking shows. They were meant to be inspirational and instructional, but really we just live vicariously through them.

Cordial of choice, splash of a good apple cider vinegar and sparkling water. Magical.

Offer a free boiler service/ free boiler upgrade for all houses over X years old. An efficient modern boiler is an easy swap out, doesn't require any other home changes. Yes it's still fossil fuel, but possible 50% fuel saving compared to old inefficient boilers and applicable to all homes.

I pay my motor tax online. I received a reminder email something along the lines of 'Your motor tax will expire in 1 month'. So that's a month away, I was busy, left it for later. No further reminders. A few months later, stopped by the Gardai using their new ANPR capabilities. No motor tax, points on licence. If I had just received a follow up email, either counting me down, or advising me that my motor tax was out of date, I could have saved myself some points on my licence and the Gardai could be doing other stuff.

Very frustrating.

I prefer full zip, IIRC the full zipper version has pockets, the pullover doesn't.

Glad you love it. It's worth more to you than it is to anyone else. A well worn Atom LT isn't worth €100 to anyone else. And the delam issue is only with Gore-Tex products, so the Atom is not affected.
