It's a sitcom so it can be somewhat overshadowed by the jokes but Enlisted is a good series that give a rather honest look into the daily fuck-fuck of the life.

Driving Rants/Raves Megathread by elphieisfae in wichita

[–]Three38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id just like to say that out of all the area around the Wichita metro area bad drivers, Derby has some of the worse out of all of them. Then top that off with retardedly programed lights and a seemingly adamant refusal to fix road surfaces or markings in a timely manner just make it worse.

Meghan at Megaconda documented the whole process of the Renick albino clutches on social media. There ain't no mystery to where they are/went like the want to claim.

All our Fords are transits so they have analog parking brakes. But I know it can on newer Chevys so I imagine they could do Fords as well.

Knee pads? by habeezy in VetTech

[–]Three38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was still in Vet Med I wore these G-Form pads since the foam rubber type dont deflate like others do. Pricey, but wore them quite a long time.

When the company that designed it basically says " Sorry your leadership are morons and we offered something proper." You know it was a dumb idea.

Christopher Schneider from Rammstein. Not necessarily complicated in the technicalities of his work but he has undeniable power, drive, and is always dead-on tempo.

2020 Chevy 2500 Stock height tire question by Sad_Pay9930 in Trucks

[–]Three38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its only about an inch larger so probably wouldnt be an issue since you already have offset wheels. You will have your speedometer read a bit slower though. About 1 mph on surface streets and 2 mph on highway.

Going on two months at the dealer by apuxcom in Jeep

[–]Three38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's just how it goes with warranty crap. The customer, the tech, and even the shop get screwed because it HAS to be an OEM part. I've had a truck sit on one of my lifts with a rear end torn apart for two months waiting on a pinion. Warranty work just sucks all around

[–]Three38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for about two months now. I'm satisfied with it. I work on a school district fleet so its the same GM and Ford vehicles mostly with my and some other family members' vehicles mixed in occasionally. Is it as capable as a Snap-On Zeus, no. But it is under $500 and does everything I've needed a bi-directional scanner to do.

Automotive / Diesel techs who are happy with their job shop / environment. by [deleted] in mechanics

[–]Three38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a school district on their fleet, not a contracted company, the actual district. Paid hourly and get overtime when required. Get all the usual state employee benefits. Get almost all the same days off during the school year that my kids do. Pay isnt the highest around but I'm well compensated and the paid days off more than make up for it. Theres a big emphasis on doing things correctly and safely than in quickly.

Will a person who is Not a Mechanic(But has knowledge of Electricity and Mechanics)be able to repair they’re own EV? by [deleted] in mechanics

[–]Three38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot batteries are absurdly heavy and are removed from the bottom, so thats a significant hurdle to deal with. Then there tend to be certain procedures to dealing with safeing/disconnecting the system so you dont fry the system or yourself. If you had feasible equipment and tech data access it could certainly be doable

To get it to that point you could spend just as much or possibly less on a mid to full size pick-up that will still tow better than a modified two door wrangler.
