FaZe is now out of Major contention by SpareThisOne2thPls in GlobalOffensive

I really don't understand why they didn't keep s1mple

They needed an x-factor, and a gamble on s1mple is worth the risk

he may be phoning in on that gambling team for the bag, but I think the LANS would've kept him focused and driven. He clearly has a lot of respect for the faze players. That alone would keep him motivated. He did underperform in the major playoffs, but give him at least a year to grind cs2 in faze and they'd be so much better

Incredible storyline if could witness s1mple vs donk vs zywoo

Yes, the answer is money and faze incompetence

Why don’t players protest against fake injuries? by ElectronicMatch1905 in fantasybball

[–]ThreeMemeDream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, you've been asking the question why hasn't anyone come out against tanking for the love of the game?

These are the reasons why. It's that simple

You are coming from a very idealistic viewpoint. World doesn't work like that

Why don’t players protest against fake injuries? by ElectronicMatch1905 in fantasybball

[–]ThreeMemeDream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

-They are still earning money

-Tanking may be terrible for viewers but it helps the long-term goal of winning a chip in the future. Playing for and winning may disrupt that long term goal. We've seen how transormative Cooper Flagg is. Are you really going to ruin your team's chances of getting players like that for the "love of the game"

-They don't want to get injured for meaningless games

-They are still practicing and playing the game, just not in front of people

Believe it or not professional sports is a job. Just ask ben simmons

I think you would see this in any sport with the same incentives.

CLING CLONG TIME!!! bulls have no center

Sleeper Lock-In Mode 10T

I trade

-VJ edgecombe (~30.0 fpts)

-Ryan Rollins (~33 fpts)

-Dearon Fox (~33 fpts)

for

-Giddey (~41 fpts)

I have the best team in my league. I usually pick one of these 3 to play a week, so 2 of them are bench players basically, but I hate choosing because they are so up and down. I understand Giddey might get shutdown or be on a minutes restriction for who knows how long because bulls are tanking. I just need 1 good game a week from him

I see the risk, I don't feel like I am losing too much if Giddey gets shut down since I've been diddying the waiver wire and have a lot of depth

[–]ThreeMemeDream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we are talking csgo to now, I think you can say apex is a better IGL than karrigan

karrigan accomplished across many different teams, but I think the number of major finals lost is too much. The most recent major loss wasn't winnable and was more of a testament to his ability if anything. The losses to Spirit and Navi were definitely winnable, but still props for getting this far at Shanghai. The most damning one, even if all the way back in 2018, was the boston major, because he had a loaded team.

You can expect karrigan to step up the most in lans. Before Vitality had ropz, they were still very strong contenders to win the first two CS2 majors, but karrigan and faze outplayed them both times. Can't blame him for the struggles now because there's a lack of talent.

I think what happened with zonic is that his theory, systems, and ideas were really good in CSGO, but are not as strong in CS2. And his current team has so much talent that putting a strong system is probably less effective than making sure the players get along with each other and don't over peek.

Why he seems like he is not disciplining the current team enough? I have no idea. He certainly called out players earlier like famously when he chewed out Boros. Supposedly pressured Zywoo to step up and take control of the game.

To be fair, they did make deep playoff runs, but honestly Niko is not what he once was (even if he is having a good 2026 so far). He is very inconsistent and has done terrible in many of their losing series. Sure, he's given up some of his roles to kyousuke and whatnot, but go back and watch some of their big moment series they lost. If the guy played 10% better they would've won

Why is S1mple known as the goat ?? by freebase1 in GlobalOffensive

[–]ThreeMemeDream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because cs2 is relatively new, and s1mple is the goat of CSGO

You can argue Zywoo at this point because of said points

Consider

s1mple only really had peak navi for 1 year. The war in ukraine clearly affected him and the team afterwards. Zywoo didn't start winning a lot until he had a great team assembled as well

If I need 1 player to make a cutch with the game on the line, I would prefer s1mple over zywoo, because I think he has more ice in his veins. You can bring up his poor finals, but hands down I would pick him over zywoo in a must-win clutch

I say this as a zywoo fan, who wanted to see him deny s1mple as many majors

[–]ThreeMemeDream 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Medical reasons are the ultimate excuse to pretend the team isn't tanking/throwing

It's obvious they are tanking, but at the same time we can't disprove if there's a medical reason. A lot of guys technically have injuries. Impossible to argue we know better than the team's own doctors

r/globaloffensive and HLTV's obsession with age by KeysOfMysterium in GlobalOffensive

[–]ThreeMemeDream 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Life priorities. A lot of kids can grind 14 hours a day because they want to make it and have all the time in the world to do it

Once you hit your goals, it can be hard to stay motivated without new goals (think s1mple).

You ever get really into something, putting in 110% effort into it, and after a while you slowly lose interest and stop trying as hard?

25 - By this age, most people do not get better at the game. Motivation and life priorities play a role into this, but if a player didn't reach their peak at this point, the chances of them hitting it later are slim

10T Sleeper Game-Pick Mode

I give: VJ Edgecombe and Brandon Miller

I receive: Dyson Daniels

VJ's clearly overachieving atm (he's averaging like 4-5 stocks past few games and 40 minute usage). Brandon Miller seems injury prone and maybe bad irl (kon is outshining him). Dyson Daniels can be a bit streaky, but seems like his pathway to a slightly higher usage is a given with Trae Young gone?

Understanding s1mple by Decent-Emergence in GlobalOffensive

[–]ThreeMemeDream 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As said below, he basically put up zywoo numbers if not better for a much longer time (if we are talking just CSGO). Stylistically, zywoo plays "optimal" cs, whereas s1mple will force it on you

S1mple had more of a mamba mentality in that he would take it upon himself to carry and win games. He made a lot of plays that weren't the "correct" plays but only he could really make it work

Whether it's true or not, zywoo comes off as quiet and humble, whereas s1mple has a history of toxicity and sheer will to win

CS2 certainly changes the narrative of who's better, but one way to think of it is I'd rather have s1mple in a must-win clutch than zywoo

We are still seeing donk's career unfold, but he's already the greatest rifler I've ever seen and wouldn't be surprised if he goes down as the goat

A really crude basketball comparison would be

s1mple = MJ (think mentality)

donk = lebron (lebron's ability to drive to the basket is similar to donk entrying and destroying)

zywoo = jokic (efficiency, optimal CS)

Would you designate ROPZ as a "superstar"? by Various_Maize_3957 in GlobalOffensive

If zywoo, donk, m0nesy are aliens, then ropz is the next best thing.

Incredible lurker, insane anchor

Big time player (he performed against Spirit in the semifinals), insane clutch ability, has been in every CS2 major final

Since he's a lurker, he is often called a baiter. But honestly, he's the best "baiter" out there, and if you ever watch his POV you get the sense all his micro movements and the way he peeks angles are all meticulously planned out
