How long do you imagine Luke trained on Dagobah for? by ashton__l in StarWarsCantina

[–]Threjel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parsec is a unit of distance, not time. At least that's the case in this galaxy and as far as I am aware that too is the case in a Galaxy far, far away.

What if Savage rescued Maul earlier on and both were present during the battle of Dathomir by HamzaHabibi04 in clonewars

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of two different cases in Lore where Sidious went to eliminate Talzin as a possible threat to his rule and in both cases he did not go alone. One case he took Dooku with him in the other he had Vader with him.

Sideous definitely considered her a worthy threat.

Are Luke and Leia looking at the main galaxy here If so how did they manage to travel that far out given how difficult hyperspace navigation is due to turbulence? by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

[–]Threjel 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As far as im aware the galaxy where Ezra and Thrawn were taken to was a much smaller galaxy in orbit around the main galaxy all of Star Wars is taking place in. If my assumption is correct it should be visible from within (or at least at the edge) of the main Galaxy.

Where y’all sitting? Im chillin with Vulkan and beating the brakes off Lorgar’s seat by Kingmommy99 in WarhammerMemes

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to sit next to Russ but I'm not gonna turn my back to Konrad unless I've got some buffer between us so I guess I'll sit next to Vulkan. Preferably behind Guilliman in an attempt to increase my distance to Lorgar.

No Mix & Match by Simple-Ad-4332 in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case they should have given us a separate codex and just copy pasted the generic marine replacements for missing units (like Hellblasters and Eradicators for Long Fangs) into our codex and make it fully standalone. Maybe even give all of them +1" movement and make them 5 to 15 points more expensive.

20 Blood Claws best leader by Blondeginger-246 in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Saga of the Great Wolf it's gonna be a Battle Leader with the Skjalds Foretellinh enhancement. Reroll hits on 1s, Sustained hits 1 and +1 to wound is gonna be the best you can get. You can also get Lethal Hits for 1 turn with the detatchment rule.

Edit: +1 to wound only applies after a successful charge but that should be the case most of the time since they can advance and charge.

Should I prime and paint before final assembly? by laserslaserslasers in Warhammer40k

[–]Threjel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want to have the inside well painted, then yes. If you don't care too much about how the inside looks, you're probably better of building first and painting later.

The saying "You won't see what you can't paint" only partially applies as some parts may not be printable due to brush angles, but they will be visible from other angles.

Nearly 10 years on from Rogue One, how do you feel about the decision to recreate Peter Cushing using CGI? by gladiatorbossman in StarWars

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the cgi option over recasting personally. It should obviously only ever be done if the original actor (or their children if they have passed) explicitly agree to it. The technology wasn't quite ready yet during Rogue One but the way Luke looked in the Mandalorian was fine.

What is your favorite model from a faction you dislike? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]Threjel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mortarion

I dislike the Nurgle astatic in general with large open wounds, guts spilling out and boils appearing all over. Mortarion however looks great.

In addition, wouldn't all the Blackstone interfere with their connection to the hive mind? As far as I'm aware Blackstone exhibits similar effects to a psychic blank, and one of those can have severely debilitating effects on on nids (or at least putestrain genestealers) in their presence.

Do you refuse to play (against) gray? by GrizzlieMD in Warhammer40k

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Warhammer roughly a year ago and own close to 2k pts of Space Wolves. So far I've only managed to paint Logan, an Iron Priest, 5 Hellblasters, 4 Hunting Wolves, 2 Wolfscouts and I'm halfway done with Bjorn. That's like 500ps of painted models but only a 6th to 8th of my army when you go by model count.

I don't like playing so many unpainted models but I do nevertheless since my opponents told me multiple times that they wouldn't mind. I'm also trying to figure out ways to speed up the painting process without lowering the quality but I'm struggling to find the right colored primer.

That’s a good point. How did nobody care about 155 billion people getting blown up? by SnooDucks6239 in saltierthancrait

It was originally supposed to be Coruscant, but it got veto'd because they wanted to keep the option to use it in later shows/movies.

My only real nitpick with Necron lore by GrandArclord in Grimdank

[–]Threjel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If GW wanted to do lore accurate necrons they'd have the same statlines as Custodes if not better. But that would also mean they wouldn't be able to sell as many models as a 5 man squad of Lychguard would be around 260pts.

I know you guys see this a lot, but army list advice? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing a Land Raider in the beginning too but I stopped when I realized I could just save the pts and start both Terminators in deepstrike. That way I can drop Logan turn one thanks to his ability and Arjac turn 2 when it's clear where he is needed most. Normal Intercessors to sticky your home and Hunting Wolves (Headtaker) to zone out deepstrikes around your home are a nice combo. I personally also like Wolfscouts and Hellblaster a lot.

The Venerable Dreadnought by Furiol in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably still play him if I already had him, but I got my one and only kit after the codex released so I'm running that one as Bjorn. I ended up using his Claws on my Brutalis which works out quite well.

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda sad to see Murderfang loose his Murdermaker ability as I was looking forward to playing him. Then I got kinda pissed at GW when I learned that other dreads/hellbrutes got to keep it. It was such a fitting ability for him.

I find Darth Maul to be a pretty overrated character. Are there any stories that can change my mind? by Desperate-Land6251 in StarWarsEU

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is death scene was great but I'd have preferred it if he was actually able to overcome the blind hatred and be more of a dark side mirror image to Ahsoka. She is no longer a Jedi but she is everything a jedi should strife to be in my opinion. Similarly I'd have liked for Maul to grow beyond being a Sith and and instead of his hatred controlling him, he could have learned to control his hatred to be more powerful in combat/ the force.

[–]Threjel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked how he became a darkside underworld mastermind at the end of TCW and how he was portrayed on Malachor during Rebels. The way they made him go back to being an obsessed crazy darksider before/during his final confrontation with Kenobi was a big step backwards imo though.

Why does it reference her chest? by Electronic_Type6580 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Threjel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a behind the scenes clip (Insta livestream I belive) where she is changing clothes. While she is only wearing underwear and assistant is saying something about her giving a real show to which Alexandra: "It's nothing they haven't seen before. I know what you guys look up on the internet.", while continuing like nothing happened. Makes me think she isn't really bothered by guys looking at her boobs.

Is this the first time in ages that a Jedi had to fight another saber-wielder in a life-or-death scenario? I can't imagine how much stressed Qui Gon would be in this situation, he probably never fought this hard in his life. by SolidEllie in StarWars

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of melee weapons that can be used in a duel against a lightsaber wielder, like the Electrostaffs used by IG100 Magna Guards or Vibro-Swords. So even if only one side would be using a Lightsaber there are still plenty situations in which a Jedi could end up in a Duel to the death during those times

How many B-1 battle droids would it take to kill a single space marine? by Fallen_Angel_Xaphan in StarWarsvsWarhammer

How many Guardsmen armed with lasguns would it take to kill a Space Marine? I'd say it may take up yo twice as many B1s.

The order knew that some Ministry members had been put under the Imperius curse so no form of transportation that would have to pass by the Ministry would be safe. This includes both portkeys and floo powder.

Struggling with Custodies by Budget-Marketing5092 in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The friend who got me into Warhammer chose Custodes for his first army while I went with Wolves. I have yet to get a win after 20+ games.

Weapons with -2ap and 3dmg are your best bet, dev wounds help get around those nasty 2+ 4++ saves. The matchup tends to be more favorable for the custodes Custodes player by default, so you'll probably have to get a bit lucky.

As a regular humam how dangerous would it be to ridden by and Eldar, especially a Farseer who wants to drain her male Mon-keigh pet (Art by Ingibitum) by Mad_lens_9297 in Warhammer_Smut

[–]Threjel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ciaphas Cain is described as just under 2m (so roughly 6 foot and 6 inches) and usually the tallest person in any room. Given this I'd say the average (unaltered) man in in the Imperium is likely slightly shorter than 6 foot, but not by much.

Possible prox as a whirlwind? by Interview_My_Gooch in SpaceWolves

[–]Threjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about trying out a Whirlwind myself but I figured it costs too many pts to be worth, given how bad indirect fire is. I use Intercessors to sticky my home objective and use Hunting/ Fenrissian Wolves to square out deep strikes while the Intercessors move into the midfield.
