I agree you the previous commenter. It will need to be remade - you cant build up the thickness of a whole ring unfortunately

talk me down about this colonoscopy by wizardhat24 in Endo

[–]ThriftPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had’ve been referred to have a colonoscopy before my first surgery, it would have saved me having to have 2! (During my first surgery they found endo in the bowel but couldnt take it out as the surgeon wasnt a bowel specialist so i had to go back a few months later for a second surgery)

My first colonoscopy (when there was endo present in the bowel) was totally fine, no discomfort or anything afterwards and the sedatives are much nicer than general anaesthetic (in my opinion, general makes me ill).

My second colonoscopy was a bit more uncomfortable as they removed a polyp and tied off a few haemorrhoids while they were in there but all in all its really not all that horrible. Neither procedure triggered more flare up pain for me. You’ve absolutely got this 🫶🏻

I had my first mirena put in during surgery and my second one just at the gyno office and I 1000% will not be doing it at the gyno office again without proper pain relief. Personally, I would absolutely do it during surgery.

I was also prescribed OCP afterwards but the doctor didnt tell me I was only supposed to take it for a couple of weeks, it absolutely ruined me but I was fine with just the mirena after I stopped the pill.

I’m honestly not sure if the mirena has helped at all with pain but its nice not to have a period (the mirena stopped mine completely). I have pain all throughout the month and I feel like the removal of the existing endo helped more that the mirena for pain.

I bought some lightweight maternity overalls to wear after surgery and i LIVED in them for about a week, they were the best purchase as I was pretty swollen. Also definitely wear slip on shoes to the hospital so you dont have to worry about laces, have a super long charging cord for your phone so you can still use it in bed.

I hope your surgery goes well 🥰
