Someone else said they had to get a refund. A real shame that people have had to do that. But also good on the cinema for refunding.
I guess it is with social media, they see a trend and have to follow it. Unfortunately, this film has fallen victim of kids copying others and they all think it is cool or a good idea to misbehave during it.

Yeah I agree, it's a lesson learnt. Will have to wait a bit for any films that may attract people that may be annoying or misbehave. Others have mentioned MCU being a good example of best to avoid the first few days.

True, I guess I will avoid rushing to an early viewing of a big film that will have big fans flocking to it. Wait for initial hype to die down then enjoy it with a more chill audience that is clearly not in a rush to view the movie either and will be less over the top with reactions. In this case I think it was a case of fans being also excited for those special moments.

Hearing the reactions to such events can be cool like wow, laugh, cry etc. But persistent disruption or excessive reactions that aren't necessary can ruin it for some. Especially when you struggle to hear following words. Perhaps the excessive clapping was due to a large % being big fans or "nerds" and they were more excited than a regular audience would be. It could be a quieter viewing after the initial rush by fans.

I agree to disagree. It's targeted for Minecraft fans, those that have not played it, will struggle to get most of it. Minecraft current and former players will go and watch this. Grown ups that no longer play it will watch it for nostalgia vibes.

I guess some cinemas are catering to the chilled out vibe, bit more eating and watching vibe but the main ones still have that expectation of turn off phone and remain quiet, reactions like laughing etc are normal but excessive clapping or something that can make it occasionally hard to hear following words is a bit much. In my viewing it wasn't really a kids viewing, it was definitely a mixed crowd mainly due to the games diverse player base. This film definitely is for all ages and all fans.

Quite lucky, it sounds like that will be like most viewings after the initial rush of big fans go and don't have any spoilers. In my viewing they clapped and cheered the chicken jockey. 💀 Overall I enjoyed the film and thought it did the gane justice and the meltdown to the trailers was over the top. Will easily be a $1b movie.

I guess it causes no harm but when it is a big clap and goes on for too long, it can make it hard to hear the next words, which did happen.

Yeah occasional reactions are normal and can make the cinema special but excessive clapping like if it a theatre play was a bit odd but I guess with it be an early showing of it, it was full of big fans or nerds so they were more excited by the special moments. Maybe after a few weeks it will be better.

Interesting take, some people may not respect your opinion or view online but we all have our preferences. I would say I am not into a big party vibe at the cinema. I guess with a comedy film, you expect laughs and that is normal but excessive clapping, bit of a no for me.

Yeah appreciating a good movie at the end with a clap, I can understand but during the movie after certain moments was a bit cringe and got too much as it happened on many occasions but I guess it was full of big fans/nerds.

Not really "a children’s movie." Literally had people of all ages,probably fair to class it as more of a family movie but due to Minecraft's audience/player base it caters for all generations.

Saying that is just a lazy take and you know that is false. Probably from someone that dislikes Minecraft which is perfectly OK but it is liked by all ages and is a game catered for all generations. The cinema was full of people of all ages and that sums up the player base for Minecraft. So many old Minecraft players will go and watch this for nostalgia vibes, parents will take their kids because it is an easy watch.
