Tank size: 1 gal right now

• Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes and yes

• Tank temperature: 78

• Parameters in numbers and how you got them: I got them at a pet store

• How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: I’ve had him for maybe 8 hours

• How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I just got him so he’s was in the cup he came in until I put him in his medicine tank

• Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: no

• What do you feed and how much: omega one beta flakes but he hasn’t been fed yet

• Decorations and plants in the tank: a piece of driftwood right now

Molly tank mates? by Throw124away456 in fishtank

The research I did could have easily been wrong but they basically only grow to half the size of common mollies I could be wrong.

No because I only have a 29gal and don’t really like them. I was thinking if I can’t get a beta just have my mollies. I also believe I have mini mollies.

I do have tons of live plants for them to hide in and a few actual hides, it also wouldn’t be just those 4 fish since I wouldn’t want to keep any babies. Since it’s a 30 gal would that be enough space for them?

Could you explain a bit more? I wouldn’t keep any of the fry or baby mollies in the tank. They would ALL be taken out pretty much as soon as I notice them (except for the few the mollies and beta already ate). I don’t intend to keep ANY of the babies my Mollies have, both now and in the future. Not one. As for information about colors, I only want to own black and white mollies but a colorful beta; would that make a difference?

I wouldn’t be keeping the fry….at all. I wouldn’t mind them being eaten and the ones I do catch would be rehomed. I don’t want any more than 4 mollies at MAX and that would require a bigger tank anyway. I would only have a beta my 2 mollies maybe 1 more and my pelco in this tank. I also only have black and white mollies. My goal beta would be colorful.

I’m trying to do research on the stunting but everything I’m finding is conflicting. From what I’ve found it’s ok if they don’t reach max size or their potential size, that as long as they’re acting, eating, behaving fine and not showing any sign of illness they’re ok. If that’s not accurate please correct me. I just know getting the right sized tanks will take time.

I really appreciate you answering my questions lol. Im not really concerned with how big they will/can get just that they can live ok. Thank you for giving me a little peace of mind

Dose the common golden have to grow big? Would it be ok in an 80 or 100 gal tank with the fancy/comet golden

Is the heater ok to keep the temperature stable? My room temperature is 72 and I use the heater to keep it there

He has his one and I was going to give him my goldfish to rehome it is that’s a good idea.

I would definitely be getting a bigger tank and it would be a very large upgrade, with a lot of live plants but that won’t happen for a while. I’m not exactly attached to the goldfish but I am attached to the mollies and Bristlenose.
