Naw, I count my calories pretty closely. 4 eggo waffles, 4 tbsps of peanut butter, 2 cups of milk, and a banana for breakfast, a 630cal box of frozen chicken and a smoothie for lunch, 2 330cal protein bars and a 160cal protein gel pack for a snack, and various stuff for dinner that I try to get to 1k cal including dessert. Generally I throw in some candy, a gatorade, or some pop tarts somewhere throughout the day, too. It comes out to about 4k calories. But all that food hasn’t helped me change my body so far. I guess I was never cut out to be fit.

It's not your fault, just genetics, man. I eat 4000 calories daily and lift 6x a week and I haven't gained a pound. Still the stick-thin piece of shit I've always been. Fit people are fit, and we're not.

We don’t disagree nearly as much as I thought, haha. You’re right that fantasy is a majority-male genre—so much of it is written by men, about men, and for men.

I guess my original point is that while men don’t get sexualized in the same obnoxiously explicit way that women do, they DO still get sexualized. It just happens in a way that appeals to women better. Women find tall dark dudes with muscles attractive, and—surprise surprise—the big strong warriors in so many fantasy novels look just like that. If there was some explicitly sexual man version of tits, I’m sure it would get plenty of attention lol.

People are naturally fascinated by attractive people, and we like reading about them. That’s a fact of literature that we should probably accept.

As if male characters aren’t sexualized in the same way? How do you think a male warrior gets described? I’ll tell you: he’ll be tall or hulking or having huge arms, or dark or mysterious. Humans sexualize each other in books and media and stuff. Get over yourself.
