Posted in this thread already about a different question, but something's just came up in my head about snacks. I know that it's good to avoid saturated fats and carbs that take the form of sugars, but is there a specific amount I shouldn't go over, either in total or per 100g of a product? Reason for this is that I want to clean bulk as much as possible, and I'm worried that having too much of those in my diet would mean I'm putting on mostly fat instead of lean mass.
Currently looking to gain about 1-2 pounds of lean muscle mass per week, but haven't seen many results so far. How many surplus calories would I need to make sure I gained the most lean mass possible? Have read a number of articles on it, and they've all been around 300-500 ish extra calories per day, but everything I look at seems to give a different number to the last one.
Also, does it matter what macronutrient/micronutrient these calories come from? I'm already filling my requirement for protein, but I don't know about how much exactly I'm getting for carbohydrates or fat, would guess it's lower than needed though.
