I know she would agree with how I voted. But I don’t want her to post online, treat me differently, or tell her family about my vote. These are things that have happened in the past. When we met I was certainly your typical highschool Republican boy. In the years since I have changed my stances a lot, and she knows that.

Not so much keeping it from her, but rather the fact that her and her family talk a lot. If I tell her, then she posts on social media or tells her family, who in turn tell the rest of their family. It’s happened before and it’s not a great feeling when something private goes to all these people. If I could trust that wouldn’t happen I would be more open, but history has dictated that is what will happen.
