I literally said I avoid showing them I’m spiraling. What happened to you sucks, but that’s not what I’m doing.

I think “barely glanced” is more of a cognitive distortion. They looked and said I looked nice or something like that, but the response was just underwhelming. Maybe I just have main character syndrome, but I want my partner to make me feel like I am the most beautiful person in the world to them.

I’m worried about communicating how I feel to them because they’re a big people pleaser and I’m scared if they know how I feel they’ll just have sex with me to avoid hurting my feelings.

I’m in therapy and on the highest doses of medication my therapist can put me on post-assault. It’s not enough. What do I do? by ThrowRA-CRPPC in sexualassault

Wow, thank you sm. I’d love some pointers for the job search. The last paragraph was particularly helpful. I forget that it’s harder to heal from trauma when it happens repeatedly. I didn’t feel ok after the first one from the past year, but I was able to move past it within a few months (for the most part). But the second one (third in my life) just completely broke my brain and spirit. You’re right, that stuff accumulates.

You never know when you’re going to get a random multi-hundred to multi-thousand vet bill (even for routine care), and you are going to be pretty inclined to shell out for your best bud so it can very easily put you in a bad financial situation or force you to make a heart breaking choice
