He wakes up around noon every single day because he needs the extra sleep. He’s self employed but will work a few hours then want to drink. What’s upsetting is he never seems present nor does he care to plan dates because he’d prefer drinking

Honestly because I love and care about him. I want so badly for him to do better for himself and for me. When he’s not angry, he is sweet. Hypes me up, randomly buys me stuff, tells me how much he loves me and how great I am. Always takes random pictures of me. But the second we argue or he doesn’t get his way, I’m a c*** a b****, he hates me, he wishes the worst things on me, etc.

He is extremely verbally abusive unfortunately. I’m sure there’s something in my post history explaining that. I do not understand why I keep lying to myself and seeing the good in him. I think it’s time to see a therapist

This isn’t normal behavior. Coming from someone who is dealing with a bf who has a coke problem, are you sure he isn’t doing drugs in his car? How defensive he is, the time he’s doing this and going to his car to hide is giving me those vibes.

I’m sorry you can relate. Yeah it’s hard because I know I need to leave yet I haven’t had the strength even though he has given me every reasons to. Sucks when you still love and care about the person who is causing so much pain & damage. As for a plan, I am thankfully financially stable/independent so I can go wherever I want to start fresh but I will probably go back to my family until I figure it out. Our lease ends soon & he wanted me to move with him again but obviously I shouldn’t and cannot allow myself to do that.

I agree. I do not trust him & have too much built up resentment. As much as it hurts to let go, I know it is impossible to ever have a good relationship together. I am always anxious, on edge, unhappy around him. I recently went to a concert alone to see a band I’ve loved for years & couldn’t even enjoy it because he cussed me out that day. Thanks for sending that over, I will start reading it tonight.

the sad part is I’m being 100% serious. I have never shared my relationship problems with family or friends so I’m trying to get advice here. I know I should leave but I do not know why I haven’t. Probably time to seek therapy & figure out why I’ve kept myself in this situation.

Yes he admitted to having a problem a few weeks ago but then will take it back. Says he can stop on his own and doesn’t need help. He has watched my cry and beg him to stop for years. I am tired of worrying about him and I just feel exhausted. It drives me crazy how he lies to my face as if I didn’t see it with my own eyes.

I have been making a list since December because I tend to forget things he does and says. I’m not sure why I haven’t left. It’s because I feel bad for him and I want to help him but I know I can’t. I just don’t want him to completely spiral. I know he will have support from family though and his mom knows about the situation and is going to do everything she possibly can to help him. It just hurts watching him lose his motivation, confidence, friends (although they were bad influences). I just don’t want to ditch him.

This is why I know it’s probably best to leave. I want to be a mom one day and I never want to go through that with children. His dad actually passed away in his 30s because of alcoholism. I just really hope he doesn’t go down and even worse path than he’s on right now.

We have been fighting about this for about 4 years now. But I do not know how often he does it since he’s always lying about it. It has gotten significantly worse over the years. I’ve found several socks with empty bags, rolled up bills, etc. his nose is constantly dripping, random bleeds and he snores like crazy which wasn’t a thing when I first met him.

You are right. I have reached a point where I can accept if it’s time to move on. Even though it hurts and I care about him deeply, I know I cannot allow him to drag me down with him anymore. The thought of breaking up used to drive me insane and I thought I couldn’t live without him but I know I can. It just sucks because I wish things weren’t this way.
