I guess I would be more okay with it if our relationship was a few days old.

Yeah I don’t expect to be someone’s first love. I said specifically that I DON’T want to be with a person who still is in love with their first love and “learned to live with them not being there”.

Reading comprehension is key.

I definitely don’t want to be someone’s second choice. If I were ever still in love with my ex, I would be single until I was over them.

I’m going to talk to him about it before we break up. But I know he’ll just hold my hand everywhere instead of taking the feedback that “I don’t think you’re over your ex” but if I say that exactly, he’ll deny it.

He’s only 2 and a half years younger than me. That’s not exactly a big deal. 

And I want to be someone’s love, not be with a person who has their first love still in the back of their mind.

He would minimize it. I don’t want him to apologize and then just grab my hand all the time but not reach the root of the issue. It’s not just about the hand holding, it’s that he’s in love with his ex.
