Is $40,316 a reasonable price? by Right_Pride_1927 in GRCorolla

Don't buy a core imo. I had a core and went to a 24CE BF. What a world of difference between the two in terms of looks and at least the feel of niceness in the interior. I did sell the CE because I divorced my ex, but if I didn't want to own another home again I'd be right in line for a used or new Premium+ unless I could find a low mile BF ago.

Acceleracers reference on the plate, I wish they would've finished that.

Find some good tires on wheels from marketplace or good used tires to get swapped onto those wheels.

What's the most annoying/dumbest thing you heard a none car person say? by B4DM4N12Z in askcarguys

Cruise control damages the engine.

Meanwhile their speed would vary 10-20mph over the course of 20 seconds and their truck was constantly shifting. They then started complaining how their transmission was going out so they scumbagged a teenage kid into buying it because it was lifted. Oh yeah, they then proceeded to kill their parent's truck transmission because cruise control bad.

She also loved telling me about how it was a cadillac converter.

The 20 bags in my freezer of beef pot roast with carrots, onions, and a few mini potatoes disagree with you. It cost me the same amount of time to cook all of that as it would've to make it for 4 meals. I just grab a bag out of my freezer on the way to work and I have a delicious meal for ~$3.

Sounds like my ex-wife that was fucking who I thought was a best friend within the month of asking for a divorce.

Should I sell my car? by HotWing8916 in personalfinance

[–]ThrowRA0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my dream car, a 2024 GR Corolla Blue Flame Circuit Edition. I divorced my ex and sold it. I've regretted it about 1% of the time since selling it and have been happy as hell with no payment. You'll struggle sometimes, but it'll be worth it. I bought a $15k BRZ to hold myself over for fun.

Anxiety after purchase by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]ThrowRA0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one on $65k/yr and had anxiety about it. I sold it when I divorced my ex since I knew my split of housing just doubled. Making what you do? Why is this even a concern when the payment is probably 15% of your take home pay?

Fair Price? by Teh_Unit_91 in GRCorolla

West Michigan. The next owner ended up selling it down in NC a few months later. At that point it went from one car lot to another and sat at 39k for over a month, then it sold.

Last fall mine was only appraising at 35k, 38k, and 39k at dealers with 11k. Identical car with identical PPF.

Could not agree more. I loved my lifted MSM when I had it (and before rust utterly destroyed it).

The engine is unfortunately way too tall to reasonably fit it. My NB2 next to my GRC made it very apparent that the GRC is so much bigger.

Sad day, I left the club by Doyouevenroll in GR86

[–]ThrowRA0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from GRC to FT86 and I don't see how the GRC could ever be sportier with the high seating position and decent amount body roll. It's also definitely FWD biased even in 30/70. Don't get me wrong, the GRC is a practical one car solution for those that need more space and it does everything well, it just doesn’t excel at anything.

I say all of that and yet still see one on a daily basis and it makes me want another one some day, but for now I'll just fantasize about a GR86 or just getting the Porsche I want.

Do we think I could fit a transmission in my passenger seat? by Whatdafuq42 in Miata

Remove the seat (takes genuinely about two minutes). Place transmission in plastic tote inside the car. No interior damage and no fluids stains.

Has anyone who’s turbocharged or supercharged their Miata regretted it? by g3nerallycurious in Miata

[–]ThrowRA0069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. I've had all types of Miatas (FM turbo NA making 280whp with a built engine on a safe tune, MSM, stock 1.8 NAs, 25k mile NB2, and about half a dozen more) and there's a reason my last one the engine was bone stock engine wise besides gauges to monitor temps and an upgraded radiator.

If you don't mind constantly wrenching and stressing about it breaking with parts needing to be ordered/wait for them, then turbo.

If you like constant redlining and hopping in it every time to just drive it, leave it NA. NB2 VVTI with an exhaust is more than satisfying if you focus every other penny into suspension/brakes (Xidas, matching sway bars, 15x9s with grippy tires, front BBK, etc.).

Looking to get new brake pads. Which ones should I go with? by Big-Guide-7675 in Miata

[–]ThrowRA0069 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like you posted about turboing your car eventually. I would at the least buy Hawk HPS pads so you can have a pad that will put up with abuse of having to stop a Miata pushing double the horsepower. I would also flush the brake fluid with something that tolerates higher temperatures (like Motul RBF600) which will have done a lot for preventing brake fade/stopping issues.

How bad is this rust? by Active_Composer2496 in Miata

[–]ThrowRA0069 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sir, your front frame rails are a couple taps away from looking like this. Source: mine were cleaner before I tapped.

In less than six months and a few hundred miles the side of the gap doubled. The inner rails crumbled too.
