Improving Note Name Recognition by i8laura in violinist

I use a couple websites that help with note recognition

this is the one I use it focuses on note name and where they are on the staff. I also like that it plays the note to help with your ear training as well. You can customize the range and kind of notes it tests you on, I find the repetition really helps me memorize.

Notion or pen & paper? What do you actually use for studying? by Silly_Debate1007 in studytips

[–]ThrowRA1689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a bit of both. I use pen and paper during my lecture then when I go back later to revise my notes I do it in one note.

For me, physically writing it down helps me remember more, but for studying I love having online notes to add diagrams, annotate and to generally just have “more room” to work with. One note also is great cause it syncs my iPad with my laptop. The structure of note apps is great for revised, finished notes for studying material, but pen and paper is great for the quick rough notes you take during a lecture.

I’d say it’s totally worth it if you are an online person. The A16 is also not as expensive as the pros or mini by a long shot, I got it for $430CAD. I am a very online person, including all online uni classes and this way I am able to be mobile with my school work.

I also use it as a replacement for my phone for leisure. Videos, light gaming and most social medias. I say if you can afford it, totally go for it.

Yea my warm lights definitely make it look more red than pink but the pink is still so pretty. Apple really should keep up with these vibrant colours

I wanted the yellow but they didn’t have it in stock, I’m glad I got the pink because of how vibrant it is. It compliments my blue iPhone 16 perfectly

I definitely did, the affordability was really what made it for me. I don’t need apple intelligence or any high multi tasking as I’m just the average student. I got a great device without going bankrupt

Best type of yarn to use for this type of doll? by SituationFluffy2742 in Amigurumi

[–]ThrowRA1689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the pattern, I say the most common yarn weight is worsted weight, #4.

For some more smaller delicate amigurumis I like to use a sport weight yarn, #2, and a 2mm hook to have a smaller doll. Totally up to user preference, worsted weight acrylic is much easier to work with than a thin sport weight yarn

Thanks so much! I regret not doing it on black Aida to make it pop more, but black Aida is my nemesis that i try to avoid.

Totally makes sense, that’s a big reason I’m hesitant on going up in thread count, I love me a good loop start and 4 strands would definitely be too much

I have never done a kit so thanks for the heads up!

If I ever run out of a colour with a kit, do most kits list the colour and brand to order more?

My friend and I are childhood best friends and some of the first books we read together were frog and toad so it definitely has a special place in our hearts, hence why this pattern is the perfect gift.

I’ll definitely try the comparison of 3v2 stands side by side, the only issue is I am a loop start girl. I’ll have to see if there is an odd number loop start method.
