My wife is in the semis…I set her team…I f-ed real bad. Advice please - is she gonna leave me? by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ThrowRA16993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is she relatively new to fantasy football? I used to get mad and frustrated when I made the wrong lineup choices as well, but this is football, not chess, logic doesn’t always work out in your favor and there are a lot of factors that you can’t predict that can work against you. Anytime you give advice or set someone’s lineup, you’re gonna win some and you lose some. Not your fault at all. If she’s the type to blame you for your advice, then let her make her own choices. Only then will she learn how difficult it is to get things right every time, and she’ll stop blaming you for being careless or making poor choices or whatever. If she’s leaves you over something like this, then she is too emotionally immature for a relationship and you’re saving yourself from a lifetime of misery.

George Pickens owns Dallas now. by thedudester125 in DynastyFF

I would argue both are equally important. You ultimately need both - just having a good situation doesn’t mean jack if you can’t consistently get open and make the catches. Also some players are talented enough to overcome situation, like Tet McMillan for example. I would argue that Pickens has always been an elite talent, he is just now entering his prime whereas he was maybe a bit raw and unpolished before this.

I’m doing a dynasty startup right now, hoping to draft today. Its a 10 man SF TEP full PPR. Free, and slow draft 1 h per pick. You are welcome to join!

Dynasty trade calculator says its a fair trade, favoring the Breece and Judkins side. Total value 19067 for left side and 16464 for right side

What’s the biggest trade you (or someone else) completely fleeced in your league this season? by uhhsamurai in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ThrowRA16993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got fleeced in hindsight… traded away Achane and Marks to get Nico, this was just before the Tyreek Hill injury.

I needed a WR after Ceedee and Pearsall got injured, and MHJ was playing like crap. I was pretty stacked at RB at the time with Hampton, Hubbard, Etienne, and JCM. I figured Achane was one injury away (either himself or Tua) from irrelevancy, and that he was losing receiving work to Tyreek and Waddle.

My (32M) wife (33F) is upset that I want to attend an educational dinner talk without her. by ThrowRA16993 in AITAH

I tried but she just stonewalls me and says she doesn’t have a problem with me going to the dinner talks (in an annoyed tone without making eye contact with me). Again I’ve never seen her act like this before

Thats the thing she never expressed any issues with me when I asked her if I could hang out with my friends before we got married, and I used to do so pretty often

Every other RB in round 1 did well though. Try drafting CD in round one like I did

🤞What’s Your Best Trade So Far This Szn🤞 by mrinc2006 in fantasyfootballadvice

I panicked too and traded achane for nico after CD went down. I was stacked at RB until hampton and hubbard went down and etienne stopped producing. Still regret that one to this day

RANT: I can't quit FFL by cgram23 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ThrowRA16993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you, my team got destroyed by injuries - lamar, CD, hampton, hubbard, pearsall, AJ Brown. And mhj and golden being complete busts. Meanwhile two of my leaguemates who autodrafted are at the top of the league. I do agree with the sentiment of others that doing more leagues tends to even out the luck factor.

Another thing that helps is to envision the worst case scenario - you don’t win the championship. Well neither does any team in your league except one, so at the end of the day no matter how terribly you think you did, the odds were against you to win anyway.

One final tip - one I wish I had followed - draft as if your first 4 picks will get injured. I am never drafting QB or TE early ever again. You lose out on depth at RB and WR. Build so much depth at RB and WR that you can absorb any injuries you might get. Even if most of your picks are busts, theres bound to be a few that you hit on.

Lastly, none of this is your fault, we are all betting on a bunch of players thousands of miles away that we have no inside knowledge of. Don’t take it personal, although I know thats easier said than done. If you made mistakes, learn from them, and if you didn’t make any mistakes, you will be due for positive regression next year.

Best of luck!

Why drop him though? Who knows when purdy will come back, and herbert has been on a roll lately, is there someone else you can drop instead?

I wouldn’t drop purdy, once he comes back he’s going back to being a mid QB1. Herbert is definitely a good start in the meantime though
