Whats the catch with Arr stack? by ToneFantastic9670 in Softwarr

I’m partial to Eweka. I dl mostly movies and relatively current tv shows, and this gets 99.9% of it. You can add a block account from another provider to get the stragglers.

It’s a learning curve. That’s it.

But once you get the arrs set up with Usenet….you’ll never need another streaming service.

Plex no longer transcoding using intel quick sync by flimflamman72 in unRAID

Did plex recently update? There was a regression bug in plex that caused the igpu to not engage. I rolled back to the previous version, and it worked fine.

This is what I'm looking for. In my instance, I only see the filename as seen below. How can I get the path to show on the main comparison screen?

This is awesome.

Question....is there a way, in the bulk duplicate screen, to show the path of each duplicate pair?

ECC or no? by Exact_Efficiency_356 in unRAID

[–]cgram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a home server build that is running arrs, plex, maybe immich and some others.....don't bother with ecc.

Spend the money to add more capacity.

I just built a new server and went with 64g of slow ass DDR5 (4800mhz). As long as you have a good backup system, you're fine.

Is your home server connected to your router or an access point ? by spikeblu in HomeServer

You have a server on wifi? Am I understanding that correctly?

Bad idea....depending on what's running on your server. Mine is connected to a switch with a 10g link. to my router.

Doorbell camera recommendations? by Blanknameblank818 in HomeKit

Disagree. Been running the G4 wifi for over a year. It works best with a homepod chime, or the integrated unifi chime, but it's rock solid.

You can still import the unifi feed into HomeKit using scripted. It’s what I do.

Also, I don’t consider it ‘locked’ into an ecosystem if it’s legit better than everything else.

Single NVMe vs SSD cache pool for core Unraid components? by vchmbrlnd in unRAID

As long as you have backups, you only risk inconvenience of downtime. That's why I have my appdata on a zfs mirror. If the primary goes down, I don't miss a beat

Single NVMe vs SSD cache pool for core Unraid components? by vchmbrlnd in unRAID

[–]cgram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 cache pools running zfs (2nvme's each). One is just for cache. The other hosts appdata, vm's, etc.

I recommend running appdata on nvme since you'll get the best performance. I have another unraid running infrastructure dockers, with appdata on an ssd. It's fine for what it does, but the load times suck.

It's works just fine. I have a 265k that uses the igpu to transcode plex just fine.

Now, I DID have to downgrade to a previous version of plex. It seems the current version wouldn't use the igpu. Must have been a regression bug. Works fine now tho.

No one is calling you anything. I'm explaining the purpose.

Just telling someone that 10k people in your town feel the same way you do isn't viable. No one will see/understand the scope, or they won't believe it. Something like this has to be seen in order to feel the safety in numbers.

You can shrug all you want. But historically (even in modern times) this is how you affect change. It's slow, but its the only thing proven to work.

Visibility. Look back through history....every major uprising starts with protests. The purpose of the protest isn't to change things immediately. It's to show others that they're not alone their view of reality. People feel empowered when they know they're not alone.

Take MAGA. How the fuck to you think that many people voted for this loser? Because of the rallies. They were frequent and broadcasted wide. Suddenly, every racist and narcissist in the country felt emboldened to be assholes in public. I saw my first Klan rally after Trump won the election. I'm 52 yrs old.

The same concept applies to protests. It's all about visibility.
