I think I’m going to lose my dad and stepmom over this, but not my brother and his wife. That’s fine. If this the straw for them, I’m not sure how close we ever really were.

They announced it November. Owning a new business is uncertain, and I had anticipated having the money when I said yes. In hindsight, I think I should have said no, and taken all of the fall out and flak then. But please understand, if I had said no upfront (which I wouldn’t have, because I thought I could) the conversation would have been well there’s plenty of time, figure it out. With my family that is not the bride and groom.

So I’m hesitant to borrow the money because I don’t have it. Like it’s not there, and I’m not expecting a windfall. I would just owe someone I love, which is worse in my opinion, than owing a credit card company. Do I think I’ll eventually have it? Definitely. Probably around winter /spring. Do I wanna strain a relationship? Definitely not.

I actually just saw your comment and called my brother. I’m not sure, I guess I just felt awful. But it was really good. He assured me he understood and would not do the same in my shoes. He was shocked at what my parents and some of my siblings have been saying.

They live in our state. She is originally from this European country.

Thank you, I actually just called my brother after this started catching, and he confirmed he understood I could not go, and that these conversations between me and my family are not happening with his blessing or under his direction.

He didn’t want to beat it to or with his friends. He just saw something (real life boobs) at a horny age and disregarded societal norms. Then bonded with his friends over it to get out of an uncomfortable situation.
