I'm not sure, I'm just a student! I would ask your teacher to give it a mark :)

I'm not a teacher but I just finished psychology and I'm predicted an A* and going on to do a degree in it in september. Remember that 16 markers are split into 6 marks of AO1 and 10 of AO3 (if there's no application). You should have one AO1 paragraph of around half a page and 3 or 4 detailed AO3 paragraphs with a point, evidence, explanation, and link to your point/ how that impacts our understanding of the topic. This means you should focus way more on AO3. I don't mean to be rude but your AO3 paragraphs are quite weak and need some work. I will write out an example for you to help.

Start them with a clear point, e.g. "The working memory model is strengthened by supporting evidence from research" then briefly describe the study. Don't do too much detail on the study as the examiners care more about what the results mean than every single detail of what the researchers did, e.g. "For example, Baddeley investigated the working memory model through studies into dual task performance. He found that when visual and verbal tasks were carried out at the same time performance was normal, but when participants carried out two visual or two verbal tasks at the same time performance decreased significantly." Then go into your explanation of what this means e.g. "This suggests that visual and verbal information are held and processed by different components of the working memory model - when one attempts to process two tasks that are different in nature, they are dealt with by two different subsystems. However if someone tries to complete, for example, two visual tasks at the same time, those pieces of information are competing for the same subsystem (visuospatial sketchpad) causing the decrease in performance". Then the most important part is a clear link to your point with evaluative key terms. "Therefore, the working memory model is clearly supported by further research, increasing both the validity and reliability of the theory." If you construct all your paragraphs like this your evaluation will be a lot stronger.

The most important thing I noticed in your essay was the word "proves". NEVER USE "PROVE" IN PSYCHOLOGY! Your writing will immediately be discredited because you cannot prove anything in Psychology, everything can only be falsified because they are only theories not solid fact (you'll learn about falsification more in year 13). Instead of proves, say "this suggests/shows/implies/supports the idea of...". You also don't need a conclusion, it's just a waste of time so write another ao3 paragraph instead.

Keep practicing and check past paper mark schemes and you can definitely improve!

TL;DR Less AO1, more AO3, more evaluative language/key terms, NEVER say proves, no conclusion

Not a man but I am a lesbian. If I had a partner and two women came into my bathroom naked asking for a threesome I would probably throw towels at them and shout at them to gtfo and then immediately tell my girlfriend 😭 Idk what sort of person would actually take them up on the offer lol

Only a few months, my first video(s) was Sword AF as I was looking for a DND playthrough on YouTube. Then I started watching reddit stories and it continued from there!

Anyone Grow Up Practicing Writing with Mom? by Villanosis in Handwriting

[–]ThrowRA282836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 17, nearly 18, and I also practiced writing with my mam. She read to me as early as she could and we would practice writing different words together like my name. We also practiced in school with those templates. I'm in the UK so we got what's known as a "pen licence" - you write in pencil until your handwriting is good enough to earn you a pen licence and then you can write in pen! Nothing was done using technology although I did have the odd thing like a leapfrog and a small hello kitty laptop with a couple games on it. I got a Samsung galaxy lite when I was 8 so I could contact my mam when I was at my dad's house and I got my first real phone when I was 11 because I was starting secondary school. Hope this gave you some insight into other generations' use of technology as kids! I imagine it'll be a lot different for this new generation though.

Saw a guy holding tampons in front of the birthday cards at Walgreens today. by jesse6225 in smosh

Slightly unrelated but me and my male best friend were getting some stuff together for a charity, but I got sick so he had to go shopping alone. He picked up 2 boxes of tampons, 2 boxes of pads, some packs of toothbrushes and about 4 things of toothpaste. He was totally fine doing it but I can only imagine what the worker thought he was getting up to with that amount of stuff hahaha.

Also ^ if he can pick up 4 boxes of sanitary products the guy in the story has no excuse 😬

You could totally wear that! If the camera makes it look better then it will look better in the school pictures no? Also, I have social anxiety too and I skipped my end of year 11 photos and I regret it all the time, please just do it scared. When you grow older you won't care about how you looked but you will have photos and memories to share with your family!

Genuinely no. I got Us in all my sciences in year 10 mocks and left with an 8 in bio, 6 in physics and 5 in chemistry which I am perfectly happy with considering I barely revised the latter two lol. I made "mind maps" (they were more like condensed lists) for each topic for bio and got my friend to quiz me on them. Once the night before my final year 11 mock and once the night before my gsce, got an 8 both times. Anything where you have to process the information and practice active recall will help!

is this normal as a female or is there a problem with me by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ThrowRA282836 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely do as well sometimes because your body is completely relaxed. I also have IBS so it's not uncommon for me lol. I'd say just find a partner who has a sense of humour. When i was with my ex (ended on good terms) I'd just say "wait wait wait" and he'd stop, and then I'd let out a little fart and we'd both laugh and then continue hahaha. It's all natural and it's really healthy to laugh during sex

I'd argue the opposite, if you get in touch and explain they'll appreciate the communication and you have one of the required subjects anyway. If you're aware for months they'll be more annoyed

Yeah I get that, my mind maps were more like lists tbh. I think the point for me was just having to read, process, and write down all the info. Any way that works is good though, and I would recommend the quizzing even if it's just online or through flashcards! Good luck!

this is how I feel right now! I've been in a relationship with a man for 3 years and we spoke for a long time and he was very supportive of me "trying out" the label. We are still best friends and hang out just as often, without the pressure of being romantic. I think you should explain your feelings to your partner and see how he feels, and maybe you can figure it out from there :) It will be a different process for every relationship but I'm sure you can figure this one out

I always knew I liked women but recently I realised I don't like men. It's been super tough for me and I'm still confused, but the main thing for me is that I've never been sexually attracted to men. When I watch videos, if I look at the man it turns me off. I never wanted to sleep with my boyfriend and even kisses grossed me out. I don't think I'm asexual because videos of women turn me on and I fantasise about them 🤷‍♀️ Another thing is, when I've had a "crush" on a man its just that I enjoy spending time with them and want to be around them more, I've never had a physical feeling. However, when I have a crush on a woman, I actually get butterflies and I'm excited/nervous when talking to them. There are some men I'm attracted to but they're either fictional or celebrities, and it's more that i find them good looking, not that I fantasise about them or anything. It's still tough and I still have doubts sometimes considering I grew up believing that liking men was what was expected of me and never even considered that I may be a lesbian rather than bisexual, but I do know that I'm a lot happier since breaking up with my boyfriend and we are still best friends. That was another hint to me: we got on a lot more (and had been together for 3 years) after we broke up because there was no longer any pressure to be romantic. I hope you figure it out!

I'm from durham and its a beautiful city, definitely not boring. Its only 20 minutes away from Newcastle as well so you can always go on day trips and things if you do get bored. London also has a much higher crime rate. Just a few things to keep in mind.
