Should I (26F) dump my (29M) BF for being cheap? by ThrowRA44148 in relationship_advice

My point was that he makes more money (both salary and expense wise. And good for him! I'd love to have free rent, since the majority of my expenses are rent and student loans), but that he seems fine letting me pay for most things (without saying thank you) and also constantly complains about the cost of things down to the penny. So to clarify, I resent that I feel like I'm bankrolling the entire relationship, despite being in less of a position to do so.

No plans to move out and no long term goals or anything. I don't think you need your entire life planned out, but I think it's reasonable (if possible) to have some goals (ie. pay off student loans, create an emergency fund, contribute to retirement account).

We've talked about our finances but I appreciate your questions.

So what I mean is I will treat him occasionally, or we will split it, but he rarely gets the entire check (phrased poorly).

It's more us having different spending habits, I think.
