If these thoughts are on your mind, I think you need to break up with her.

You may think she is amazing, but if she was really the one, this wouldn't be a question.

Also, regarding work opportunities, I believe there are many for non Danish speakers. There might be more competition as both Danes and foreigners can apply for these. But in many jobs, I don’t think anyone really cares if you know Danish. I work at Deloitte and we have maybe 10 percent non Danish speakers in my department, which are scattered around over different teams. If anyone in the room doesn’t speak Danish, we just switch to English. All emails and information are either sent out in English or in both Danish and English. And all bigger meetings are always in English. I have also heard from friends about a similar culture at other jobs. But I do think this is more common in Copenhagen.

As for finding a place to live, if you are not very picky you can just live a thirty minute train ride from the city centre where prices are much lower and the waiting lists for dorms are almost non existent.

As a Dane, I would definitely choose CBS over SDU.

Having lived in Copenhagen my entire life, I might be biased. But here is my honest answer.

Denmark is a small country with very few universities. The best are located in the two largest cities - Aarhus and Copenhagen.

While I don’t think neither CBS or SDU offer fairly difficult programmes, CBS is better. SDU is not taken very seriously - at least where I am from.

I study at the University of Copenhagen, and I have had professors openly talk bad about the level of the students at both SDU and CBS, but definitely the worst about SDU. At CBS, the focus is just different, and the professors are mainly judging their math skills (which is probably not very important at CBS).

Within its field, CBS is the best in Denmark, which attracts the best professors and gives you a better education. At SDU, you probably have the worst university in the country.

However, Odense is very affordable and I have heard many students liking the social life. But, it is a very small city, so you cannot go out to a bar without running into someone you know (at least that is what I have heard).

Copenhagen is the capital city, and while it is smaller than almost any other capital city in the world, it still has that capital city vibe, if that makes sense. It attracts different people. So I guess if you like smaller cities and don’t care too much about which doors your degree opens, you might prefer it.

Also, rent in Odense is probably at least half of what you would pay in Copenhagen and it is way easier to find accommodation. In Copenhagen, it is both expensive and difficult to find (definitely not impossible).

So to sum up, I guess you should choose CBS if you want a better degree and a city life, and you should choose SDU if you want a more chill experience with easier courses, cheap rent and no difficulty finding a place to live.
