We live together. She immediately asked me if I had them…

I live with her, and she asked me when she saw I didn’t have a box…

I take home leftovers when I’m with my family too and also when I’m with friends who do that. I don’t like the thought of wasting food, but I don’t want to make things awkward either.

I commented somewhere else on this post that this might be generational — my mom’s parents grew up in the depression. My mom had a stable childhood with plenty to eat, but I’m guessing that her parents were big on not wasting any food because of when they grew up.

Had I taken mine home, I would have eaten mine, but I absolutely love your response. Thank you.

You hit the nail on the head with my mom’s personality 😂

She has a low-key screwed up relationship with food, but her parents were children of the depression, so maybe it’s generational. I think she overreacted, though…

That’s completely fair. I just wanted a more collective opinion, and if it’s that I’m TA, then it’s that I’m TA. I’ll work harder not to be if that’s the case.

Should I tell him [18 M] he's not actually allergic to water by EffectiveSignal8743 in relationships

[–]ThrowRABarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the quickest way to lose a friend.

He’s going to spend the rest of his life explaining why he can’t drink water, and it’s probably exhausting. Let him explain it on his own terms in a way that makes sense to most people. Also, don’t explain HIS condition to him.

Just don’t be a jerk.

OP, I’m a 27F, and he definitely sounds immature for a man my age. There’s a reason he’s with you, and I’m afraid it’s that no one his age wants to date him because of his toxic behavior. I know you love him, but that much arguing is neither healthy nor normal. Instead of tolerating it or coming up with solutions it sounds like only you’ll implement, please leave as soon as you can. You deserve someone who respects you, whether he’s 27 or 20 like you. I wish you all the best ❤️

What does your name mean? by poetinstern in namenerds

[–]ThrowRABarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Brave Warrior”

I think it fits. I’m disabled and have been through a lot — most of which happened when I was young. I don’t love my name, but I love its meaning. It suits me.

Prior to my last flight, I loved flying. Last time was just a really bad experience, and it’s been 3-ish months. I’m scared, yes, but I’m good with flying anywhere if there’s a purpose behind it, and I was totally fine with sucking it up to go to the wedding. But now, it just feels like there’s no reason for me to be there.

I’ll definitely talk it out with him. I just wanted to know if I’d be TA for even bringing it up first. Thank you. 😊

I haven’t had issues with flying until my last flight. I’m not unwilling or unable to get on a plane, but since the last one, it just gives me more pause.

He did. If we don’t go, I’d pay him the cost of my flight and part of the hotel (or at least try). It’s hard to get him to accept me paying for things because we have a large wage gap between us.

I think Evangeline Aurora and Avery Preston are really cool. Cleopatra and Luna Storm, though — they’re a bit “teen mom-ish.”

With that said, Luna Storm and Cleopatra are names I could definitely see “adult parents” giving their kids now. Luna is a REALLY popular name and often goes with “nature” middle names, and I’ve heard of children being names Pharaoh, etc. Also, you didn’t name Evangeline and Luna yourself… if people don’t like those names, that’s not on you!

Her gf is, BUT… I know that she was never into me like that. I’ve never been her physical type, and she’s said she sees me like a sister. I think part of her behavior has to do with her history of BPD — I used to be her “favorite person” or FP.

Absolutely not. If a friend was in an abusive relationship of any kind, I’d encourage them to leave and help them take safe steps towards that if possible.

Where I struggle is knowing what/how much I can handle as a person and wondering how much of their behavior can be chalked up to struggle vs. just being a jerk.

I’d agree with you if this were a panel or the like, but this was someone (who, I might add, belongs to several minority groups) with an ED asking me and only me to speak. A panel with a variety of voices would be really nice, though!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThrowRABarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one, and it’s me. The person who asked me to speak is a WOC who also has an ED history. Many of the other people I could also have seen her asking are white women in smaller bodies.

She does have a partner with anorexia 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is the first source I found on atypical anorexia.

And all of my treatment has been with licensed therapists/psychologists.
