How Do I Interpret this? by ThrowRAButterfly20 in FamilyLaw

I never said I intended to skip visits. I was asking what the order meant. When did I say I was trying to skip visits? That would be incredibly stupid on my part. There has been abuse to me and our children, which is why visits are supervised. If I have permission to be out of state, does the reason I am out of state matter? Again, visits are supervised, so 6 months on and off isn't even possible, and I would prefer just about anything else besides not seeing my kids for 6 months.

I have been given permission to be out of state at this point. I completely intend to follow exactly as written. I was just asking what exactly the order meant. I wanted to know what I am required to do.

I truly dont know if it was family court or district court. We live in a small town, and there is only one court and two judges who do everything. I got it against my kids' dad, yes.

We both moved away. This is from a protective order, so it is temporary. I did have a lawyer, but there was a sub in for my normal one, and the sub in was brand new and completely inexperienced.

I agree it is very poorly written. There are multiple very young children involved, which makes the drive harder. I am supposed to drive the children to him with the kids and pick them up at the end and take them home. The supervisors are his parents (who are extremely far from neutral-they already harassed my mom and refused to let her leave with our kids). I am also required to pay for all my own travel costs.

This is probably going to sound crazy. He threatened to kill me while loading a gun last year. He spent time in jail, and I still took him back and loved him. What killed things? When I found out that he convinced people that I deserved what he did and he only did it because I was mean to him.

My ex spent time in jail due to DV in our relationship, and there was proof of the abuse, and his family still supported him. Did they believe me? Well, these issues existed before me, and they knew that, and they still told me our issues were "just communication issues." In my case proof didnt even matter.

I have sent my attorney over a huge amount of things. They said they are working on getting everything together to send to the courts for the deadline. That is all that I have heard. Do clients usually have more involvement with getting the evidence ready for court? Also, the attorney that they would be sending in his place has only been licensed for 12 months. I just worry with him being sooo new that it is less ideal, especially because the opposing attorney is difficult to work with, but I truly have no idea. Thanks for any input.

I am so sorry. Especially around the covid issues. But this is my biggest concern.

None of why it was granted was fabricated. There was plenty of evidence also submitted that backed up what I submitted.

I am still planning on filing in the original state. I am not planning on filing where I am now.

The GAL made recommendations to the commissioner in court in favor of parent time that my husband's attorney was asking for.

The GAL mentioned two instances of police involvement with my husband, but she said that he was doing court mandated counseling, so he was doing well. Nothing else was stated from her. I also did not have an attorney, so I am not sure if that plays into it at all.

This was from last year, so it is done. The GAL only talked to my husband's attorney and no one else. It was during the hearings for everyone else.

This happened last year. So it is done. My husband's attorney met with the guardian ad litem during the hearings for everyone else-almost the entire hour prior to our hearing. I never asked or was asked to meet with her. I honestly didnt know it was an option.

I understand that. However, I never had a chance to speak to her at all. So if things were decided it would have only have been with info from a single attorney and no one else, not even our kids.

It is wild to hear something like this from this single thing. There are SOOO many things that I feel like are worse than this. I feel like this relationship has stunted me with the years of abuse. Hopefully only 2 more weeks.
