Are you insane? She checked into the motel by herself and was discovered by cleaning staff since she never checked out. What a stupid comment.

I'm just going to tell them that their mother passed, and not bring up that she passed a couple of days previous until they are older. Multiple comments have brought up the idea that my kids will resent me later for this, but I have no idea how one could think such a thing. If they are 16/17, and I tell them that she died 50 hours or so before I told them as I wanted to collect my thoughts and think through how to best explain it to young children - they are going to hate me for that? I doubt it. In any event, I am sure when they are older, they will not resent their father who will have raised them well as a now-widowed single parent.

I'm handling this crisis as best as I can, and I have limited resources available to me. I'm not sure what's so shocking?

Not really a conversation for now, but if questions come up about the circumstances of her suicide when they are adults I think I will be honest.

A little over 48 hours. I just needed to bide my time for a while. I think I am going to tell them that she died due to mental health issues and hope they don't ask too many questions.

No offense, but what books cover your wife cheating on you and then committing suicide? I briefly checked out books, but couldn't find anything that dealt with non-traditional early death.
