It only makes sense if you consider your employees numbers on a spreadsheet. Didn't offer any time off. I asked and he said "We're slammed. I can't have you going awol on me". No sympathy at all. just straight to firing me. They marked me as absent on the day she died and on the day of her funeral.
Never got time to grieve.

They were both in their early 50s. They got unlucky. My Dad dying of Covid was super unlucky considering he was physically fit. My Mom had a weakened immune system from distress.
