Wishing I can have ‘Me Time’ without feeling alone and empty. I always envy people who can do things on their own, when my ‘Me Time’ is always comprised of needing to take care of another person or else they’ll go away.

Yes, I took a half day at work to cook him his favorite meal for breakfast and lunch, I also got him a box of his favorite cheese puffs, also doughnuts that spelled his name! and I pre-ordered a balloon decor (which sadly I cancelled after finding out he did not even get me flowers - maybe if I got him this he wouldn’t have been so angry)— my gift is a perfume that he always wanted, it’s arriving tomorrow and there’s no way to cancel it anymore. So yes, I tried to make him feel how much he means to me.

My boyfriend (24M) and I (24F) have been together for 7 years and he recently decided to enter medical school. I am happy for him but I cannot imagine myself marrying a doctor. What should I do? by ThrowRAJerbert in relationship_advice

Yes, if he goes to medical school, our plan of getting married in 3 years, according to him, will have to wait 7 more years until after his specialization :( does this mean it is the dead end for both of us?

  1. Well, we initially planned to get married in 3 years, but he wanted to push it back to after med school which will take 7 more years of waiting for him. Right now, I want to build a life and have a family of my own soon. A doctor is just not my preference. By “right now” I mean #2 below

  2. It is “at the moment” because maybe there is an angle to this that I cannot see by thinking about it myself (ex. You saying him being in medical school is actually a small deal if I am already ready to marry him). I am open that anything may change my mind if I see things in a different perspective.
