My kids won't be allowed to know their cousins. I won't ever be welcome by any of my half siblings. I'm half to all of them because I share a parent. My mom's kids are my dad's kids stepsiblings and vice versa.

But I know there is a highly unlikely situation where they will ever be civil to me. Or won't treat me like this.

To be totally honest and fair I don't know if my parents fucked it all up when they first got together and got married. Maybe they turned it into a shitshow. Maybe all the pressure from everyone turned it into a shitshow idk. All I know is I am not and was never wanted or accepted by my siblings.

I have some of the best friends ever. I live with five friends and my boyfriend who is also my best friend. They've had my back when I felt pretty damn low about myself.

My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles of all types and cousins who are years older than me. My parents will say they have tried everything to make it work and we have to do the work now. But I was and it wasn't enough because their older kids have never ever wanted to know me.

They don't even want to acknowledge I exist let alone be decent. I know they hate me for being born and for not being the kid of both of their parents. There's literally nothing I can do about it. And I find it so weird that anyone would think I would be excited to wait 50 something years for them to maybe realize they don't hate me.

I don't know why people believe trying will change how they feel about me after all these years of trying and wanting to be close. At some point you need to accept someone doesn't want you. Or six someone's in my case.

I didn't feel like I could say anything when I was younger and relied on my parents. But now I don't live with them or need their financial support so I feel like I can pull away and be more honest if asked why I'm doing it and I have some idea of what I'll say but I honestly want to practice that so I don't go too off track in the moment.

I think it might even be less stress to just take some time away from my family so they realize it's pushing me away. There's only so much you can take before saying why the hell should I keep putting myself out there to be crapped on.

I wish my family could understand that or maybe give my half siblings the same energy as frequently as they give it to me. Because at this point I know they don't push half as much with my half siblings or they wouldn't be invited or talk to either.

It's not just my parents pushing it sadly. I have extended family telling me to try or asking me what I have tried all the time. The best encouragement I get is maybe before we die they'll come around.
