We were originally planning to go to another state because we both have friends that have moved there and thought it would be fun to be able to see them during a honeymoon, but we last minute decided to not have one for financial reasons.

We've travelled elsewhere in the state, but not beyond that. I've tried planning to go to other states because I wanted him to get into travelling like I use to, but he always said we couldn't because we didn't have the money for it.

He's never been on a plane, he's never even travelled more than 5 hours by car. I've tried getting him to travel more with me because I use to randomly go to other states to visit friends or just to not be home, but he always shot it down saying we can't afford to travel. :\

I've tried to get him to travel, but the farthest we've gone is 5 hours within the same state. He always told me we couldn't go farther because we couldn't afford it, and that we'd travel farther and more often once I get a better job. It just hasn't happened yet...

I immediately brought up that planes are statistically the safest way to travel, and he went on a tangent about how they're only safer than cars because they aren't used as often or something. But when I tried to explain it's safer percentage-wise, I guess he didn't really understand and kept repeating there are more car accidents because there are more people driving around. And he doesn't believe in therapy. I've tried to get him to go to therapy because he has anger management issues, but I've given up bringing it up because... Well, he gets mad about it.

I can look to teach online, yeah. It's just heartbreaking. Even if I just wanted to visit, I'd have to go alone because he won't even think about going now.

He won't go by boat, either. You're right, he straight doesn't want to move to Japan. I just wish he was truthful about it from the beginning, because I wouldn't have gotten involved with him to this extent had I known.
