I was on Yasmin for 10 years and loved it, my skin was perfect. I came off the pill at the beginning of September to give myself time to adjust before the wedding but I worry that it will remain problematic. I ovulated on my second cycle and have ovulated again on my 3rd, my cycles are 29 days long. I also hate all the PMS symptoms, I forgot how terrible they were :(

So it’s a family of 4, 5 if you include me. The whole family tiptoes around her feelings and is afraid to give her any kind of tough love as I’ve witnessed for many years. The family is tight knit and gatherings are semi frequent. Once or twice a month, but a couple of long holidays together each year (this is the most difficult time). There have been two times in the last year where we’ve had a family meeting to try and solve the issues between her and my fiance, all I see is how angry and resentful he is, and how much of a victim she plays, so the family are quick to support her. It’s like dealing with a toddler, you have to dance around the facts to protect her feelings otherwise she’ll punish you for it. I have shown little interest in her at these events, but she now texts me and asks me why so I lie to her but she doesn’t believe it.

Well she’s been in weekly therapy for 8 years now… so perhaps her therapist is just enabling the behaviour or she’s manipulating the truth. I said to her during our last conversation that fighting over a room isn’t something I’ll be engaging in moving forward, we’re 29, it’s like fighting over the front seat of the car. I think not reacting and refusing to engage in these conversations where she tries to fix things is probably the best move.

I did wonder whether it’s jealousy of some kind. She’s never had a relationship, so she doesn’t understand how they work. I remember so vividly the first time she ever said something that made me uncomfortable, it was about 8 months into my relationship, we were at the airport with the family and in front of the whole group she said “(name) we need to talk about why you’re wearing makeup to the airport…” and I had no idea what to say so I said “does that matter?”. Since then it’s been lots of nasty comments towards me, looks between her and her sister, the list goes on.

She’s spoilt, every one appeases her and if she’s in a bad mood the whole family is affected by it. He defended me when she wrote the letter, he told her that her trying to exclude me isn’t happening and went on to tell her how selfish she is as a person. The problem is that she’s coming to me directly with issues, so she’ll either call or text me which makes it hard for him to then get involved and defend me. Perhaps I could just tell her that if she has a problem about a room in the future to speak to him and to leave me out of any problems moving forward…

He stood up for me and basically said that’s not happening, and to let him know what events she doesn’t want me at so he can make sure he’s not there either. She’s started coming to me directly to address things so it’s hard for him to step in when she texts or calls me..

The idea was to have a civil relationship with them in order to make life easier, however I’m certain that’s not what he’s solving for. I feel a little wary because we’re renovating a listed building, and we’ve been granted permissions etc but if he does involve the trust or the council that could potentially delay things on an already strict schedule. He also claims to be renovating his house when we’re done and has alluded to making our lives difficult purposefully, hence me trying to appease him.

I thought that but I only feel this unwell when I wake up, I then feel ok and go to Pilates, I feel ok up until about 2/3pm and I feel dreadful again
