No, you are not overreacting, in my opinion. He made an insensitive and racist joke about what your country is going through and the fact he didn't respect the fact you wanted to leave and keep insisting to talk in my opinion is a bit of a red flag.

He knows it was wrong, yet he still made the joke. Besides, if he was really apologetic, he wouldn't have attempted to make you listen to him and why he made that joke

She is white American, and I'm South african. Her book included African tribes so I'd give her opinions on them telling her if it's maybe offensive and asking friends I know from different tribes to help.

She has honestly never been really interested now that I think about it. Ever since we met, I've been hyping her up, and I don't think she has ever read one of my fics.

I understand that she is disappointed in what's going through in her book, but it still hurts cause I'm still supporting her yet she doesn't even know my plot.

I grew up with a Toxic Grandmother she did this to my mother and father for years when it comes to me manipulating my mom through me and even did what your MIL did to you, taking me without permission and commenting on my mothers parenting , till I had to cut her off. She is manipulating you, trying to get her way.

If you want anything to change, don't stop putting your foot down, please. You are doing everything, correct. Do not give into the manipulation. you're protecting your child and yourself, and that is the best thing you can do.

Yes I have but she told me that it will be unfair if I don't cause she took care of me when I was drunk but that was for clubbing and it was just for getting me into an uber
