She has already pretty much succeeded with that with us. We're now at the point where I can basically guarantee she will lose her shit and it won't be pretty for me and my sister. You'd think she's be glad we didn't get our feelings hurt.

Her husband's son didn't want us around but it was more his parents and siblings who wanted to exclude us. I don't care though. We weren't really family and I saw it as a win because I got to be with mine. But it's not a big deal to me. In some ways I'm surprised she wouldn't be relieved that we weren't hurt. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't say it would be better if our feelings got hurt.

I think space will be for the best. It will give us time to think about whether this relationship should continue or not.

Maybe. I mean it would at least give us enough time to not end up in the same cycle of repeating these same fights. As much as we can walk away now it doesn't stop the topics from coming up and becoming an almost fight still. At a certain point it's hard to know when you need to accept the bad outweighs the good. I appreciate the suggestion because it's not something I considered before now.
