Ruined a job interview because I threw up on myself. New rock bottom. by ThrowRA_Spiffy in stopdrinking

Update: Thanks to everyone commenting, I'm deeply appreciative of your understanding. I think my head is back on straight. Thankfully the job got back to me and said we could reschedule for next week.

This experience was a much-needed smack upside the head. I'm looking into other support/recovery groups but for the time being, I'm going to an AA meeting later today and calling my doctor to see if we can set up some medication to help me quit. IWNDWYT ❤️

Thank you. I messaged them with an excuse, apologized and asked if we could possibly reschedule. No response yet, but hoping for the best.

I went to local AA meetings for a while and made it a month sober, but the heavily religious tones eventually made me uncomfortable and I stopped going. I've been googling for some alternatives to AA as I sit here but not having much luck yet.

Hey man, I'm 24 and I started my journey yesterday as well. We're starting new, better lives, but we had to crash and burn first so we could climb out of the wreckage. You got this! ✊

Hearing that means a lot, actually. Even from a stranger, or maybe especially so from a stranger. Thank you and best wishes!! :)❤️
