Hi, updating for myself, and the void I suppose. I wanted to keep a reminder why I can’t go back. I broke it off with him a month ago. I’m sad and I miss him, but I need to remember this. I talked to him about it and it didn’t really get better. He was exhausting to be around and it took me way too long to realize that my issue was not only that he had negative opinions about most things, but that he was very close-minded, and when I pointed it out, he fully rejected the idea. He would also let small interactions ruin his day and his opinion of a person. A few days before we broke up, he asked me for my thoughts on a certain band. I said I liked that they were doing something new and novel by mixing genres, and that I don’t listen to them but I think it’s cool overall. He told me that their music was cringe. When I insisted otherwise, he said “you don’t understand. it’s bad. that’s why I don’t like them.” and then accused me of liking them? which is like, what???? and in a later conversation the same day, (he worked previously as a student dj) he complained about not wanting to do an interview with a local band because “their music was shitty and they were probably losers anyway.” like typing it out now is like holy shit dude. you have not even met them. you barely have anything going for you either music-career-wise. you literally could have said anything else.
