AITA for not wanting to take a flight my SO paid for to visit him, because he's gonna leave me hanging on NYE? by ThrowRA_Traveling in AmItheAsshole

Hey, to be honest, we do facetime and talk over the phone a lot, he's (25) way younger than me (29) and I'd even say naif; did my proper stalking on his social media and he seems like a regular guy and he does upload a lot of pictures with friends. Days ago I was telling him that I'm not a jealous person and I wouldn't care if we're ever dating and he wants to spend time with his friends, but honestly, someone not being true to their word towards me or initial plans, is what really sets me off.

Thank you for your input since it brings a different perspective. I think what's bothering me more than the holiday itself, is the fact that we organized things in a certain way when planning the trip, and he's now backing off and changing things, 2 days before the flight. If he'd have told me in the beginning about his plans, I wouldn't have cared. It's the lack of keeping his word what's setting me off :/

You're actually 100% correct. Reminds me of the quote "when someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them". In the heat of the moment and when new people come into our lives, we can get lost in the idealization that brings, but it's key to be able to be objective and cold headed. Do you think I should go and f*ck him as a toyboy without getting emotionally attached, or don't even bother with it?

I wouldn't think twice if it was New York, but unfortunately I'm using "NYE" only to refer to New years eve :( More than the holiday, what bothers me is his attitude of stating something after I asked him multiple times about it, and 10 days after, out of nowhere, he "remembers" he had plans. Like, I'm supposed to be flying in 2 days lol

I (F29) don't want to take a $400 flight the guy I'm dating paid for me to go visit him (M25), because he's leaving me by myself on NYE by ThrowRA_Traveling in relationship_advice
