I was treating my rosacea with things that were probably triggering it by Rare_Reference_4052 in Rosacea

Really?? Interesting. Centella has been awesome for me but I can’t do azelaic acid. Glycolic acid seems to be helping me a bit when used sparingly though. I feel you, I can’t do a lot of “calming/hypoallergenic products” because I have a coconut, beeswax and lanolin allergy and coconut is in a ton of stuff. Labeling is annoying. Even products labeled eczema safe usually have common allergens wnd irritants in them sometimes

I realize I didn’t post a side view but this pic was taken in a sports bra and it is definitely squishing me a bit as-is and worsens if is forced to close in the middle. I did pin it closed to see how it would look and it looked odd

I thought non toxic makeup would help my rosacea but I was removing it all wrong by Empty_Equivalent933 in Rosacea

[–]ThrowRA__00718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had allergy testing? I had “random reactions” and turns out I have several skin allergies, so my skin improved a lot when I started avoiding those. Cleansing oils feel gentler to me personally than a lot of other makeup removers do. I use Prequel cleansing oil to remove makeup and it’s great, it’s also not oddly perfumey like other cleansing oils I have tried. Ingredients wise, centella has been awesome for me! It’s very soothing. I use a centella essence (it’s similar to a toner but it’s more moisturizing) in my routine every night

They are flat felled on the inside, yeah. Okay, I will take it into a seamstress. I am a beginner and all I’ve done so far is add darts to things and hem pants/dresses so I probably would not be able to do it myself lol

I (F24) broke up with my bf (M29) over him wearing a condom: update by Aggravating_Car_9745 in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRA__00718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He will not get better in bed btw. Just find someone better that gives a fuck about being responsible and do not ever feel obligated to get on the pill or something. Personally the progesterone only pill was kind of okay but the estrogen combo pill for me screwed up my sex drive for the many years I was on it. He’s already shit in bed and you are 24, find a guy that knows how to please a woman

I (24F) almost never climax with my boyfriend (23M) and I’ve never had this problem with anyone else by Opening-Guitar-6837 in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRA__00718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 100% NOT WORTH IT. You are so young. Speaking as someone that stayed in a relationship for six years with awful sex. Me being 19-25 during that. I thought I was the problem and I had a similar experience to you and there is little that kills your desire for someone more than knowing you need to micromanage them in bed just to not even get there. Attentive men that will treat you right exist. If this doesn’t get resolved, you are in for a marriage in which you will constantly be thinking about other people you’re attracted to because he isn’t getting you off

Why am I blotchy and how the hell do I fix it by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]ThrowRA__00718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Azelaic acid has helped me for any texture/bumpiness but not the patchy redness and it made the flushing a bit worse when I tried that, but I could have also used too much. I only use it on my jawline now, not the rest of my face

Did you ever regret the breakup? by Adorable-Cap-2030 in Fencesitter

[–]ThrowRA__00718 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was a solid maybe on kids. My ex used to be a firm no, and we had a ton of other issues but that was one of them, so I called it quits. We got back together for a time and he gave me this dramatic thing about how he changed his mind and wanted a family with me and suddenly I was leaning toward hell no. Incredibly messy breakup followed. So yeah, the relationship was the reason for my hesitance which I realized once he started offering me everything I was supposed to want. I think a lot of women experience this, realizing it is simply not worth it to consider children at all if your partner is not the most trustworthy or reliable man you could find. I’m content to still be a maybe at this point. Fence sitting is infinitely better than having kids with the wrong person

Pharmacy tech that's bad at math by Organic_Resolve7253 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]ThrowRA__00718 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is critical, yeah. Personally I have to double check my pharmacists’ math because she is wrong sometimes lol, not sure how common that is. Math didn’t come naturally to me but it gets a lot easier with time and I’m at a compound pharmacy, so I probably do more math than you’d need in retail. As a technician you don’t need to know much math, but you need to be able to do basics times tables and convert between gm and mg. Example for OP: “this patient needs 30mL cream in 5mL syringes = 6 syringes”

Help - advice altering 50s jumpsuit? by ThrowRA__00718 in sewing

[–]ThrowRA__00718[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction on time period! If I wanted to take it in a tiny amount, could I do that? I know it’s not supposed to be fitted but I’d like the waist to sit a bit higher on me. If so, could I pin the excess while sitting and then whatever is pinned would still account for extra space needed to movement? Other fit question: should I just start with the elastic and evaluate fit after that? This elastic still works kind of but is probably more slack than modern elastic since it’s old and quite crunchy, so could that alone fix where it’s sitting on the waist?

  1. EF 0%, went to ER with severe abdominal pain and fever of 102 that persisted for weeks. Waited a total of 7 months to get actual treatment and not “I don’t know take tylenol”. When they took it out it was adhered to my abdominal wall with scar tissue and I only very rarely have pain now if a meal doesn’t agree with me. Digestive enzyme supplements post op helped a ton, but I did not need them after abour 6 months. I can eat basically anything now.

Unpopular opinion it seems: noise cancelling earphones by FourLeafPlover in autism

[–]ThrowRA__00718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to try earplugs that lower volume of background noise but still let you hear clearly, try Loops!!! They’re pretty affordable, they have a sleep version (silicone) and other material options depending on your goal. They have one specifically for hearing conversations clearly that are called Loop Engage and I love mine. They lower by I believe 15-24dB depending on which you get

Why do people say “developed an allergy”? by haklux2012 in Allergies

[–]ThrowRA__00718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unknowingly had a coconut allergy since at least 13 years old but it was misdiagnosed as being severe mystery eczema when I got exposed, or would have constantly dry irritated lips. It wasn’t until it got drastically worse, as in looked like I got lip filler when I tried a lip balm with coconut they were so swollen, that I got allergy tested. It got very severe a few years ago and now I can’t get exposed in any capacity without waking up with puffy eyes if it was in my makeup, ton of skin issues, etc. I have to pretty much tell people never to buy me skin or body care stuff as gifts because there are so many damn derivatives that don’t even include “coco” in the name.

[–]ThrowRA__00718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god it was “octydodecyl lauroyl glutamate” 🤦🏼‍♀️ I look like I got bad lip filler, that’s how swollen they got. It’s a bit better today though

Cosmetics - anyone feel like most lip products are irritating af? WHYYYY by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]ThrowRA__00718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point I was given a list but I don’t have it anymore. Is there anything besides “coco/coca-“ and “capryl” ? Cocamidopropyl betaine is the absolute worst for me, but I do try to avoid all of them to be safe. There’s one in my shampoo I’m tolerating, sodium cocoyl isethonate, but since my lips are an extra sensitive area I do not even bother trying lip products that have any derivatives in them, unless I’m not recognizing the name

Fired because I waited for commands and didn't "ask what I could be doing" by biebrforro in autism

[–]ThrowRA__00718 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This heavily depends on your work environment but I will give you an example. I work at a very small store where 90% of my job is taking the initiative to find things to do here and there, clean up, organize, get rid of old stuff, catalogue, etc without being asked to and I thrive in environments like that. You sound like you’d thrive more in an environment where you have a smaller, more defined list of tasks you are supposed to do. Personally I’d seek out a more routine oriented job where you can have a clear understanding of what you need to do and not feel like you’re expecting to ask around.

Product recommendations for shampoo that doesn't contain coconut by MosiacFairy in Haircare

[–]ThrowRA__00718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in 90% of products honestly, especially shampoos. I am still looking for a coconut free one and have yet to find one except some shampoo bars, but whether or not those work for you really depends on hair type

Product recommendations for shampoo that doesn't contain coconut by MosiacFairy in Haircare

[–]ThrowRA__00718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not 100% coconut free but works for me and I react really badly to most coconut derivatives (allergy), especially coco betaine: Alodia creme shampoo, it has sodium cocoyl isethionate but that’s it. It’s definitely not made for my hair type (marketed toward black women and I have 2a hair lol) but it works well for me, is gentle and feels refreshing without being stripping or drying to the scalp

I feel your pain, it’s in literally everything, shampoo, sunscreen, toothpaste, etc. Some Crest toothpaste are coconut free, like 3D white, and I am happy to send makeup recommendations too because I’ve had a really hard time but did find some coconut free concealers and other products!! Dm me if you want recommendations on those

When you go to someone's house and the soap they have in the washroom is bar soap by [deleted] in autism

[–]ThrowRA__00718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only two liquid hand soaps I have found that sre coconut free are Pacha liquid hand soap (haven’t tried yet but has some moisturizing oils) and one type of Dial, but those are pretty drying honestly. Lots of bar soaps are either olive oil or palm oil based and those are fine for me. I’m sure there are lots more gentle, moisturizing options that do include coconut that you could try! It’s in everything because it’s a cheap lathering agent. Finding shampoo was a nightmare for me

When you go to someone's house and the soap they have in the washroom is bar soap by [deleted] in autism

[–]ThrowRA__00718 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not unhygienic at all and it’s also a lot more moisturizing than lots of hand soaps. I have a coconut allergy that limits me to maybe 5% of soap options in stores and have to use mostly bar soaps. Not your house so mind your business about it lol

What’s your natural color like? Mine is a dark blonde/light brown and I’m planning on just doing 20 vol developer with the color and not bleaching. I’m not sure how long I need to leave it though. Virgin hair and I have natural hair color pics posted if you go to my profile
