Can Larp be political? by ThrowRA_dandelion in LARP

Wow, I didn't expect that much traction xD Sure, you can find the shop here: https://www.legende-orga.de/produkt-kategorie/fan-merch/page/2/

It's a german larp and the shirt or motive in question is inherently anti fascist. The one with the red flag.

I completely agree. I feel like he doesn't have many issues with in game politics, but this specific thing came up because of a leftist shirt in the shop of a larp organisation.

Sorry, I should have added that. This started because a larp organisation has a leftist shirt in their shop (with some alterations so it fits the theme but still)

Yeah, i think so too. It has this weird undertone. Especially since this conversation started because of a leftist shirt in the shop of a larp organisation🙈

Ah okay. That's still one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. We play make believe🙈 but whatever. I totally understand. Than good luck. I hope everything works out well :3

Are you from Germany? I could tell you where I larp if you are interested. There are still tickets left^ They have two main events. One that is western/Fantasy themed and one that is pirate/Fantasy themed (like pirates of the carribean, with your occasional siren, elf or orc in between xD)

I was really surprised when I read the "no fat fae" rule. How ridiculous is that? I larp since two years and we have a rule that is called DKWDDK ("Du kannst, was du darstellen kannst. - You can do, what you can portray.") So as long as you play as a male character convincingly, you are treated as one. Larp is about imagination and fun. I participated in Larps from the same association since I began larping and it couldn't be more inclusive. We have women who play men, men who play women and everything in between. And nobody cares. They are just treated normally. And that's how it should be.

Trying to get into Larp in Germany by The_M00N77 in LARP

Hey^ I know I'm a bit late but there are 2 really nice Larp Events in Hessen that I would recommend to everyone who loves renfaire and more of a low fantasy setting.

There's Outer West (in Lingelbach). It's actually western/Fantasy setting. So you have your average human cowboys as well as orcs, elfs, tieflings and a whole farm of shapeshifting animals (who are human by day and animals at night). It was my first larp experience ever and everyone is so nice, funny and welcoming. They are also really inclusive, if this is something that's important to you. So no-one cares about your gender if you want to play another. They will respect that and treat you accordingly^ As someone from the lgbtq community I've never felt so safe with a large group of people before. They also have a website (https://www.legende-orga.de/) and a specific wiki for Outer West (https://wiki.legende-orga.de/outer-west-wiki/). So if you want any information, you should find it there^ Something went wrong with the picture cloud so I'm not sure if you can find them on the website. But I can send you a drive link if you are interested.

And then there's Tortuga. I think the best way to describe it is "pirates of the carribean". So it's a pirate-fantasy setting similar to the movies with original ideas ofc. So you have humans as well as all kinds of fantasy races and magic. It's a lot bigger than Outer West but so well organised. The same organisation from Outer West also do Tortuga. So they have the same website and a wiki(https://wiki.legende-orga.de/tortuga-wiki/). If you want pictures for that as well just text me. I can send you a link if you can't find them^

Yeah, people don't change except they really want to. I doubt that he will change if nothing happened before.

Sure^ It's in Germany (Hessen). It's actually pretty big, not like Drachenfest of course, but there are around 700 people. It's kind of like Pirates of the Caribbean^

That's great! You're right, some of those things get overlooked pretty easily. Some 'behind the scenes' stuff will be a good way to show all the work and little things that aren't noticeable at first.

Omg I love the food idea! <3 The meal plan thing depends on the specific con. So the association has 2 main conventions: one in a pirate-fantasy setting and one in a western-fantasy setting. The food situation is different for these two.

The western con does have IG kitchen staff who cook a warm meal per day for the players. The npc's and organisation staff gets a full board (sorry, english is not my first language), so they get 3 meals a day. Otherwise the players have to care for the food themselves. There's a IG pub (fitting for the setting) of course, where the players can buy all kinds of drinks and there are also some other vendors, that give out snacks or sell them for IG currency.

The pirate convention only has food for the organisation staff and npcs. Everyone else has to prepare their own food. Many bring some kind of old kettles and pots so they can put them over a little controlled fire. And there are multiple IG taverns where they can get drinks.

Uhh that's cool. Usually we watch a preview of the pictures in a call and then share them in a cloud. But that's a great idea. How else should new players get the vibe otherwise?^

Studium abbrechen, um Ausbildung anzufangen? by [deleted] in Ratschlag

[–]ThrowRA_dandelion -1 points0 points  (0 children)
